Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christine Jefferson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christine, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Most of the models I paint are of people’s personal horses, many of them are horse’s they’ve lost.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Since I was a little girl I never played with Barbie’s, it was always horses- usually Breyer Horses. I got into the model horse hobby for a while then stopped to show real horses, when Covid happened and horse shows were canceled, I decided to get back into models and started painting them for other people! And since then I e had numerous people ask me to paint a portrait of their horse! I’ve painted models of horses lost in a barn fire, horses lost to age related issues and horses currently showing. Some have been graduation gifts, birthday gifts or Christmas gifts! I love seeing the people with their models and knowing they will always have something to remember their favorite horse by!

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
My grandfather was an artist, he passed when I was only 7. I wish I could have known him better and had his help in developing my creative skills… I have no doubt he’s the one I got my skills from!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
To me the most rewarding thing is knowing how much joy I bring to people when they have that special horse memorialized!
