Alright, Caitlin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. The more we talk about good leadership the more we think good leadership practices will spread and so we’d love for you to tell us a story about the best boss you’ve had and what they were like or what they did that was so great?
I briefly had the pleasure of working in hospitality! My manager was a leader in the best way possible. I admired his hard work and charisma. He cared about all of the staff members and was fair in his decisions. He wanted me to know the restaurant like the back of my hand I remember him vividly telling me to go home and study the menu and take the bartender exam which I have yet to re-take lol. He said a bright young and in charge woman in myself before I could.
Caitlin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Yes, what sets me apart from everyone in my specific industry is my attention to detail and mission. I was a self taught nail technician by the age of 17 and persued cosmetology school at the age of 18 with of my goals being to open a salon. Bratclawztm was designed to be luxurious. I ventured off into creating aromatherapy nail care as Clawzessentials is home of the product Pedibombs which is an extension of both luxury and aromatherapy.
How’d you meet your business partner?
This maybe cliche but the co-owner of the company is my mother. She helped me and supported in the first place. My goal to be a salon owner made her happy and has always been hopeful for that reason she gets to be apart of this too.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
People give up on the vision before you ever will. Don’t allow discouragement to get the best of you. Your vision really will come to life no matter who doesn’t see it. It’s their dream to begin with.
