Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jesseca Favors . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jesseca , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Boss’Sis was created by a black female entrepreneur, for minority female entrepreneurs. The mission of Boss’Sis is to change the narrative of Women of Color and to display a more positive side. Boss’Sis is dedicated to providing a safe space for minority female entrepreneurs where one may be free to be themselves with no judgment, & Elevate & Scale their business one sis at a time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Jesseca with an E. I’m a small town girl from the core of Athens GA. I’m a Mother, Boss, & CEO. I began my entrepreneurial journey in 2018 when starting my trucking company FFU. I decided to become an entrepreneur to take back my time , energy , & freedom . I no longer wanted my livelihood to be placed in someone else’s hands. I then founded Boss’Sis in 2019 with the mission & vision of changing the narrative of minority women, while impacting their lives one sis at a time . Both my business & the brand focuses on opportunities. My business is designed to empower women that we too can thrive in a male dominated industry . The Boss’Sis brand has many layers designed to Empower & Elevate our fellow Sis. Boss’Sis stands on substance we are a community of Minority female entrepreneurs where we share knowledge, resources , funding opportunities. Some of the things Boss’Sis does are virtual workshops, in person events , minority female business owner advertising & a 12 month 12 step Academy for new & seasoned entrepreneurs. One word that sets us apart from other brands is Substance . I am most proud of where I have come as a individual, as a business owner & as a founder & CEO of a on the rise organization.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
On my journey as an Entrepreneur & CEO it has been far from easy or perfect. During my Journey of FFU Trucking and all that I’ve experienced one would have given up a long time ago . I have dealt with thousands of dollars of wasted repairs, driver sabotage & so much more I never gave in or gave up, I continued to walk my path and understood that no one said it would be easy . While operating Boss’Sis I’ve had to revamp over 3 times due to organizational structure. It was hard having to start over and over once finally starting to get engagement and traction I however knew that the sun had to shine again and with persistency and consistency I would align with the right Individuals and begin to blossom and I’m happy to say that time has finally come and presented itself.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
One must always remain true to self in business or personal. One thing I stand on and make sure that my team stands on is being Authentic. Being authentic will take you places trying to be someone else will not . It’s only one you! Own it .
