We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Attallah McGuffie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Attallah below.
Alright, Attallah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have had a love for music since I was about 4 or 5 years old. I remember running around the house singing the old school music my parents listened to. Then one day I heard a song by the late R&B singer Aaliyah and all I remember growing up was wanting to be just like Aaliyah. Later on in my musical career I began leaning into hip hop as well but my original path into music was R&B music

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
So I am a single mom, I found a love and a passion for music at a young age. However, becoming a mom during my teen years I took a lot of time away from music. I recently dived back into my craft in 2023 and I’ve been working hard ever since to get my following and my fan base up. I am also building a cosmetics line called Unicorn Goddess Official. I plan to have merchandise available late fall of 2025. I want my fans to know I am a versatile sound my music is not one size fits all. I have a unique sound being that I am an artist from Colorado we have a blended musical sound. As for my cosmetics line I want it to be recognized for the fun sparkly and girly style it’s gonna have a lot of products that have a unicorn or mermaid essence to them and it will also be catered to people of all color, race, etc. We will even have products catered to people with skin aliments such as eczema or psoriasis.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Being a single mom has been my biggest blessing. However it has been a big barrier in some ways because it has been hard to find the time and the financial means to back my music or even my cosmetics line. However as my children get older and more self sufficient I have been able to find time to put into my music as well as the financial means I now have a job that allows me to make the non stop income not only to provide for my family but to back my artistic work as well

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to make music the world can relate to and use as a form of therapy sometimes. I also want to leave generational wealth behind for my children so that they are set for life if anything were to happen to their mom at least they are able to be financially stable without me here.
