We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Willie Svendblad . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Willie below.
Alright, Willie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
I was training at a 24 hour fitness in Los Angeles. A lady approaches me to ask if I was a personal trainer. At the time I wasn’t sure if I wanted to train people. She proceeds to ask me “can you train my son? He is skinny and I want him to have muscle like you”. I was flattered and I said sure I can help your son. I trained her son for a few month and he was happy with all that he learn and the strength he obtained through me. From then on, I embraced the feeling of wanting to help people change their bodies and mindset when it came to fitness.

Willie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Willie Svendblad. I am from Los Angeles, California. I became a personal trainer a few years ago. I made a conscious decision to not want to work for anyone but myself. I told myself the goal in life is to make money doing what you love everyday. Fitness is what I love! Now I make currency from it! That’s not the only reason I do it. My main joy is helping clients realize that taking care of their bodies will also help them mentally and spiritually. Taking care of your body means you love yourself fully. Many people have a hard time getting started on their fitness journey. My passion is to help them build a habit of working out and eating healthy. It’s a privileged to teach people how to take care of themselves physically, spiritually and mentally. I call it the “Triangle Effect”. Every corner has a purpose. One corner is your spirit, the other your mind. The last one is your body. When we learn to focus on all 3 corners you excel tremendously is life!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
What illustrates my resilience is pain and struggle. I had rough start growing up. I did not have a father in my life and my mother struggled to put food in our table for siblings. I did what I wanted growing up and that wasn’t a good thing. There was a point in my life when I became addicted to alcohol and I abused it for a long time, which led me to getting in trouble with the law several times. I hit rock bottom hard. I asked God to help me remove my addiction and he did. He replaced it with a positive addiction, hence fitness. Since I made that change with His help, I’m able to be a living testimony that you can change any circumstance you’re in for the better. Never lose hope and have faith in God and yourself to do better nd be of impact to others.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of clients for me has been referrals and testimonies. Most of my clients love their results and are eager to show and tell their results with friends and family. I am blessed to now have people message me on social for help in whatever goals they have when it comes to fitness or health. I am also able to help anyone in the world via my online training programs, not just in person.
