We were lucky to catch up with Filip Roos recently and have shared our conversation below.
Filip, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I always wanted to pursue something creative/artistic ever since I was a child, but didn’t exactly know what.
Always loved performing be it through stage acting, dancing or singing.
Drawing was also a big part of my life during my childhood, though one thing that I always did ever since I was a kid and still do to this day, is doing voice impersonations or doing voice over for other peoples characters.
Way back I remember doing voices for characters that my cousins would make up and have me do some kind of wacky or silly voice, sometimes also doing voice recording for existing characters in video games.
A lot of this stems from my passion for video games and I always wanted to be part of the video game industry, either as an writer, design artist or a voice actor.
As a kid I especially was drawn towards the character of Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid game on the original Playstation.
I just love how amazing the characters voice sounds like and wanted to become just like David Hayter who voices Solid Snake.
Though throughout my life I always suffered from lack of self confidence and would always undermine myself to the point where I just believed that I would never be able to achieve anything or fulfill my dreams.
So as a teenager when deciding what career to go for, I would just deny going for anything creative/artistic, especially anything with the video game industry as I believe I would never make it and that I am not smart enough of a person to do it as I also suffer with a learning disability.
I then spent my youth training as a cook and worked as one for a couple of years, then after that pursuied a career in the IT-industry, though both never really satisfied me and never truly made me happy.
Though these careers taught me a very valuable lesson, which was having self confidence within yourself.
With that you can achieve anything if you simply believed in yourself and worked hard through passion and determination!
Because of this I finally tried doing some voice overs for commissions or doing it for free for people, as I wanted to gain as much experience as possible. Even doing my own personal voice over projects on existing characters to expand myself and simply having fun as well by reliving those moments that I really enjoyed seeing.
Right now this for me is something of a hobby but I would really love for this to become a reality and actually pursue as a job if the opportunity comes up for me.
Currently I am applying to a school to become a Level Designer in video games, as I also have the passion for designing/drawing. With this I also hope that I have more of a closer opportunity to do voices for characters in the games that I would work on, making this an ideal dream coming true.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Filip Roos, I got randomly generated into the country of Sweden and live there since birth.
I enjoy spending time playing video games, exploring the surrounding nature and giving lots of pets to my cat Lexie.
I stream on Twitch under the nickname FallapaGoose and recently had my 6 year anniversary where we did a fundraiser for a charity called Safe in Our World, in order to help raise awareness to mental health,
I mostly play a variety of games but we also have karaoke nights, breakdance sessions or playing around in the Unreal Engine to design a level for a future game.
I discovered more about my self throughout my streaming career and especially more so in pursuing my passion for voice over.
A lot of work I do is through streaming, but I also post on Youtube and recently have a couple of voice over projects there, even currently working on my next one.
I also take commission either through direct contact on Discord or my Fiverr page.
I am someone who works very hard and trying to show my passion through the work itself.
I always prioritize making other people happy and satisfied, to bring a smile to their face or a laughter.
Despite having chronic migraines and MS (multiple sclerosis), I still put everything of my self to create as good of a product as possible even though I might be suffering from my chronic illnesses, I push myself through and not having my chronic illnesses stop me from doing what I love in order to bring as good and complete of a product as possible!
The project I am most proud of is doing voice over for a character that Ina Mulvik commissioned me to do, which was for a character in a companion mod in Morrowind named Faeryn Sethandas.
It was my first paid commission that I did and it was a lot of fun doing it as I love the game Morrowind and voicing a Dark Elf was such great fun and a good challenge as well.
I am someone who loves bringing life into characters and really set the tone of emotion when recording, so that you as a listener can feel and understand how this character emotionally is and where they stand in the world they live in.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Personally for me it is getting that confirmation that someone enjoyed my work, seeing them smile or hearing their laughter.
As entertaining people is something I have always enjoyed doing and will forever do as it helps not only with my own lack of self confidence but also knowing that I am able to bring something good back to people who might be needing it a lot in their life.
Helping bringing some light into peoples life and making people feel good with what I help deliver, whether it be through streams, voice overs or other creative work.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Entertaining people in every possible way as I believe that laughter and positivity can help bring a lot of good in life and we all could use some more in our every day life, as we all suffer from something or going through some kind of hardship.
It is easy to fall into a dark mindset and endlessly be in a vicious cycle of self hatred, anxiety and depression.
Which is why mental health is extremely important to me and something that we all need to nourish.
By me simply providing with entertainment through my creative works, I am hoping and wishing that it is something that can help others as well and help them out in times of need where it is most needed or simply just having more light in their life by bringing them some positivity or a laughter.
