Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tabitha Alexander-Ball. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tabitha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea.
While working in the retail industry after graduating women would approach me inquiring about my outfits seeking fashion advice and tips on how to coordinate colors, patterns and most importantly what complimented that particular women’s shape and size that will make her feel comfortable, confident and Glow. Helping other women tap into their Glow was so fulfilling I wanted to do it on a whole other level not just another department store sale associate. You can literally feel when it’s time to move into your life’s next chapter. Entrepreneurship is not for the lazy and weak, it’s not your typical 9 to 5 punch in punch out, you’re in charge of everything making all the business decisions working seven days a week 24/7. It takes alot of drive, hardwork, time, consistency and dedication. I had an idea, did my research on starting a registered business, set a business plan, obtained all the proper licenses and documentation required, found good reliable manufacturers with quality clothing, built a website and social media presence showcasing featured merchandise to target viewers/customers, participated in numerous small business workshops and popup shops to network and get exposure. Now four years later we’re still catering to our Queens building Confidence assisting women making them feel and look good one outfit at a time shipping nationwide. “If you Believe it will workout, you’ll see opportunities”
Tabitha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I was working nonprofit being overworked and underpaid. I started selling clothes on the side for the extra money. I would sale to my coworkers, friends, strangers on the street, whoever was interested. The demand for my services grew and so did the need for me to follow my passion . You can stay to punch someone else time clock and continue helping them build their brand or do you have what it takes to build and sustain your own profitable business was the question I kept asking myself. I prayed about it and stepped out on Faith turned my side hustle into a business. “When you’re doing what you Love you become resilient “. Don’t let anyone discourage your Dreams. You don’t need a fan club to Achieve your Goals. Be your own Motivation!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Most effective strategy I would say social media, networking and giving the potential client visuals, I’m like walking advertisement. You bring more awareness to your business and featured apparel. You have the power to affect people with your confidence, your appearance, how you present yourself and most importantly your communication skills.
