We were lucky to catch up with Golden Gimp recently and have shared our conversation below.
Golden, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Some of the most interesting parts of our journey emerge from areas where we believe something that most people in our industry do not – do you have something like that?
That having a fetish is taboo or something to be ashamed of.
I do believe everybody has some sort of fetish. Unfortunately most will never give themselves the opportunity to experience it, share it with someone or even admit it to themselves. I realized my attraction to Latex and bondage from a young age. Superhero’s costumes etc. Batman captured by Catwoman made me feel…funny. Hey Wonder Woman, how about using that rope to make me sing like a bird? I would fantasize and dream I was captured by a gorgeous latex clad villainess often.
Now I notice Latex fashion coming more and more into the mainstream and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Here is a great article from a recent Vogue. https://www.vogue.com/
It’s certainly going in the right direction as far as latex fashion goes. However this look IS BASED ON FETISH. A fetish that more people have than are willing to admit, let alone go out and try.
My Goal as a fetish photographer/cinematographer is to show not only the fashion side of Latex, but the fetish as well. My favorite shoots are Latex in public. Everything from shooting for a latex fashion company on a ferris wheel, to a head to toe latex encased (I.E. full enclosure) model walking down Sunset Blvd.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As far as what drew me to the fetish arts? My honest question is why aren’t you? Eartha Kitt or Michelle Pfeiffer as Cat Woman honesty did nothing for you? Kate Beckinsale in Underworld. Carrie Anne Moss encased in rubber for The Matrix! Even Brittny in her red latex catsuit. Indeed, latex fashion is now fairly mainstream. But this goes back deeper. The legend Betty Page for example. I remember the first time I got my hands on a Vampirilla magazine vividly. Am I the only kid that fantasized being captured and interrogated by a latex clad super villainess? Probably not. Im just someone who was bold enough to bring kink into my personal experiences from a young age. So it’s been something ive enjoyed my entire life.
Spending that life here in LA, the local kink scene has always been a solid peripheral and with my skill set, shooting for the fetish models and manufacturers here has seemed a very organic journey. I created The Goldengimp instagram account with some selfies mostly. Then some other local photographers asked to shoot with me. The next thing I know I’m on the stage as part of the show for Torture Garden Los Angeles. That escalated quickly! This exposure brought more attention to my photography/cinematography. I now have won some film festivals with my short films and shot with some really lovely people and companies from all over the world. My photography being featured in several worldwide publicacions. Honestly this community is so creative and beautiful. It has brought me everything I was missing.
My only advice to anyone reading this is don’t be ashamed or embarrassed about your kinks. Embrace them while you can enjoy them. You only get this one life. There are two people in this world. People who have a fetish or kink and spend there whole life denying it and those who are brave enough to acknowledge and embrace it. Passion. Art. Fetish. Kink.

I call them Not Fu@king Tangible. The idea of a DIGITAL piece of art that nobody else can have is insane to me. I like to say Don’t hide it, divide it.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Film. I’ve only recently started shooting 35mm film and am simply addicted. Anyone can grab a digital camera. Take 100 pics while adjusting exposures and lighting. Then edit after with different filters etc. and come up with something nice. Experimenting with different Films and exposure methods is now my fave pastime. Not just in fetish photography either. It is my current fetish…
