We were lucky to catch up with Kelley Carey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kelley , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a customer success story with us?
In October of 2019 I was contacted to photograph an intimate wedding taking place in less than 24 hours. The bride and groom along with their closest family and friends were making the impossible happen. So many brides are fixated on making sure every detail is beautiful and put together; there is nothing wrong with that but it’s easy to forget to focus on the things that are most important in life. The bride’s mother was in hospice and it was decided to make sure her mom would be able to celebrate this amazing day with her daughter. The day of the event, there was not a dry eye in the room. The mom glowed with love and happiness for the couple. If I had to choose one moment to recollect it would be when the bride and her mom listened to their favorite song and danced together. I cannot even put into words how heartfelt and gorgeous that moment was. There are a handful of weddings that will always stick with me but this wedding, this simplistic yet absolutely beautiful wedding, will forever hold a place in my heart.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Born and in raised in the stunning state of Arizona it was easy to fall in love with capturing the desert’s beauty. I have been photographing for almost twelve years now. Along with landscape photography; I have loved photographing my German Shepherds dogs throughout the years. I specialize in Intimate weddings, elopements, families

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I get to share how I view the world with my clients. I think that’s the best reward for being an artist, helping others fall in love with what you see. Life goes by in a flash learn to appreciate the fleeting moments

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I have learned the hard way not to rush through sessions. In the beginning of my career it has left me feeling frazzled and some clients not satisfied with the quality of their photos. Being prepared yourself and sending out questionnaires and such to clients prior to the session has helped immensely
