We recently connected with Chamiya Brown and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Chamiya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The story behind Faith in Mind Business Services is deeply personal and reflects a transformative journey in my own life. A few years ago, I found myself grappling with challenges during the home-buying process due to poor credit scores and other setbacks. This experience was pivotal, not just in shaping my personal resilience but in sparking the idea for my business.
I took a proactive step towards change—educating myself about credit, seeking help, and connecting with professionals who transformed my situation. This process wasn’t just about acquiring a home; it was a lesson in faith, persistence, and the impact of supportive guidance. In 2021, I closed on my house, a milestone achieved through unwavering faith and dedication. This personal victory inspired me to assist my brother and even facilitate my parents’ journey to homeownership. Handling these administrative tasks without prior experience, yet succeeding, unveiled a newfound passion and skillset in me.
In 2022, fueled by my experiences and a vision from God, I founded Faith in Mind Business Services. The name itself symbolizes the dual power of faith and a focused mindset, both of which were instrumental in my personal achievements. I realized that many small businesses falter not just due to a lack of resources but because of a deficit in faith and drive. My mission with Faith in Mind is to fill this gap—to empower and inspire other business owners by managing their administrative tasks, so they too can focus on their dreams without being bogged down by daily operations.
Launching this business wasn’t just about providing services; it was about instilling belief and determination in others. Every step of this journey has shown me how crucial it is to blend strategic support with an empowering mindset, and I strive to bring that same faith and focus to every client I serve.
Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to enhance Faith in Mind Business Services by expanding our offerings to include direct assistance in the home-buying process. I am currently working towards obtaining my Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license and continuing my education in credit management. This expansion is a natural progression of our mission to empower and support, drawn from my personal experiences with the transformative power of knowledgeable guidance in real estate and credit.
Incorporating these services will allow us to offer a more comprehensive approach to supporting individuals and businesses alike. Many of them dream of home ownership as part of their personal and financial stability, and I’ve seen how daunting the process can be without the right support. By providing expert guidance on credit and the home-buying process, we can empower our clients not just in their businesses, but in achieving individuals personal dreams as well.
Furthermore, once I become a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator, I envision servicing future homebuying clients directly, ensuring they are educated and confident throughout their home-buying journey. Additionally, I plan to explore partnerships with different real estate agents and mortgage companies to further support our clients and provide them with access to a network of trusted professionals.
This addition is not just about offering more services—it’s about enriching the journey of our clients, ensuring they have the faith and the tools to succeed in every aspect of their lives. It’s a continuation of our commitment to be a driving force behind their success, helping them to navigate complex challenges with confidence and knowledge.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most significant lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that I needed to have everything figured out before taking action. Growing up, I was always taught the importance of planning meticulously and having a clear roadmap for success. While these are valuable principles, I found that they sometimes led to overthinking and hesitation on my part.
The backstory to this realization came during my journey towards starting Faith in Mind Business Services. When I first had the vision for my business, I felt overwhelmed by the enormity of the task ahead. I kept waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect plan, and the perfect set of circumstances to align before taking the leap.
However, as I immersed myself in the process, I discovered that clarity often comes from taking action, not from endless planning. I learned to embrace the idea of ‘progress over perfection’ and to trust in my ability to adapt and course-correct along the way. This shift in mindset not only propelled me to launch my business but also empowered me to navigate challenges with more confidence and agility.
Faith played a significant role in this journey as well. Trusting in God with the vision gave me the courage to step into the unknown and believe that everything would unfold as it should. It taught me to let go of my need for control and to have faith in the process.
Ultimately, unlearning the belief that I needed to have everything figured out allowed me to embrace uncertainty as a natural part of the journey. It taught me the value of taking calculated risks, learning from failures, and being open to new possibilities. It’s a lesson that continues to guide me as I navigate the ever-evolving landscape of entrepreneurship.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most challenging yet transformative experiences in my journey was the decision to separate from my full-time job to pursue the vision for Faith in Mind Business Services. At the time, I had a stable income and great benefits, which provided a sense of security that was hard to let go of. However, I knew deep down that this leap of faith was necessary to fulfill the vision that had been placed in my heart.
The process of making this decision was not easy. I faced doubts and fears about whether I was making the right choice, especially considering the financial implications. But I also knew that staying in a comfortable but unfulfilling situation was not an option if I wanted to truly live out my purpose.
Ultimately, I chose to trust in God’s plan for me and take the leap. It was a leap of faith unlike any I had taken before, but it was also a testament to my resilience and unwavering belief in the vision. Despite the challenges and uncertainties, I remained steadfast in my commitment to pursuing my dreams and making a positive impact through my work.
This experience taught me the true meaning of resilience—being able to face adversity head-on, adapt to change, and persevere in the pursuit of my goals. It reinforced my belief that challenges are not roadblocks but opportunities for growth and transformation. It’s a lesson that continues to inspire me on my entrepreneurial journey, reminding me of the strength and courage it takes to follow your heart and create the life you envision.
