We recently connected with Amanda Noble and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

Amanda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My work is all about the way we preserve ourselves through technology and social media using large-scale oil paintings. I find technological advancements to be both fascinating and a little scary. The spikes I paint represent the alluring dangers of technology and social media. I also incorporate paper flowers, a symbol of the artificial. I love the imagery of eyes, reflections in them, covering them, or distorting them through glass. Our perspective is so important, and I find our phones to be a distortion of reality.
What sets me apart is my background. I spent my formative years in Japan, and that experience really influenced my artistic style. The use of origami imagery in my work was inspired by my early childhood growing up in rural Japan.
I’m most proud of the way my art inspires conversations about how we use technology and how it affects us. Are we connecting more or becoming more isolated? It’s a complex issue, and I hope my work can be a starting point for exploring those questions.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is definitely the ability to spark conversation. My paintings are all about the complex relationship between us and technology, and it’s amazing to see viewers engage with that theme, whether they agree with my perspective or not. It’s a challenging topic, and I love that my art can be a catalyst for discussions about how we live in this era of technological advancements.
