Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenna Redfield . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jenna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
I think that being authentic on social media as well as making a personal brand vs a business. They may not be “trends” by where the internet is heading. 10 years ago it was all about perfect looking feeds and now people want relatability and to be entertained. I think covid changed this, we realized we just want to be somewhat ok and it brought a ton of new kind of creators online. The threat of closing tiktok has also spread online shortform video to other platforms like YouTube and Instagram.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jenna Redfield. I consider myself a serial entrepreneur as well as an ADHD creative.
I started my career in video production and was originally a video creator.
Then I found a niche in creating styled stock photography and created my first online business.
In 2016, I founded a local community called “Twin Cities Collective” where I hosted events and workshops, started a podcast and started an annual local awards that had thousands of people voting on their favorites.
Then in 2021, I started teaching Notion to my community of ADHD entrepreneurs on my YouTube channel and that started another business selling courses and templates around that.
Locally, my main business is now doing content creation (social media video) for local businesses.
What sets me apart are my vast skills and experience, who I am at my core and my connection to people in general. I really love to network and connect and love to surround myself with people like me. I feel like there’s nothing I can’t learn or teach myself and many say that I can do it all when it comes to marketing which I feel is true!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think consistency. Creating content every day for years really helps people know you, hear your name. but also showing up. Going to events, networking, coffee dates. Putting yourself out there.
I think also doing things without a motive. Creating content for the sake of content.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I teach a framework called the 13 Pillars which is based on the Pillars, Pipelines and Vaults framework by August Bradley. It’s a similar vein to the book “Building a Second Brain” by Tiago Forte. It’s all about how you capture and collect information that you collect. I find digital organization is a super underrated skill for entrepreneurs and creatives!
