Brandon & Katie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love for you to start by sharing your thoughts about the pros and cons of family businesses
Our Photography business and our wedding venue would both be classified as family businesses! All of our children who are grown now work for our businesses whether that be photographers, videographers, or helping at the venue. We have always instilled a good work ethic in our children and believe our success is a direct result of our entire families hard work and passion for the wedding industry.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We started as hobby photographers and a couple years in we were asked to capture a wedding for a friend. Immediately following that wedding we knew that this was what we were meant to be doing! We continued to capture weddings on the weekends and work our corporate jobs during the week until a couples years when we decided to take the leap and make this our full time gig. We have not looked back since!
About 4 years ago we were presented with the opportunity to purchase one of our favorite wedding venues, The Duncan Estate. Over the past 4 years we have worked hard to make The Duncan Estate an all inclusive wedding venue with our main focus being an effortless planning process for our couples so they enjoy their day to the fullest with the help of some amazing vendors that we have met throughout our time in this industry!
Our entire staff, be it on the photography or venue side, are 100% committed to creating memories that will last a lifetime for our couples!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
All of the years we have worked as photographers and videographers in this industry, creating bonds with other vendors in our area has helped make it a seamless process into becoming an all inclusive wedding venue.
Our constant creativity and commitment to helping our couples have the best wedding day possible by putting the right vendors in place has helped us grow tremendously in our industry.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We are constantly keeping our commitment to solely being able to provide our couples with the best wedding day possible! We also love when our couples tell their friends and family about us and we get to keep growing off their recommendations. At the end of the wedding day we are always having family and guests telling us this is the best wedding they have been to and that we have an outstanding team in place to ensure the day goes smooth! Word of mouth has been our most successful marketing strategy yet!
