Alright, Fabiola thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have always had a passion for traveling since I was just 12 years old. It all started when I spent six weeks in Haiti with my mother’s family. During that time, I got to explore different parts of the country, from the poor to the luxurious. However, it was when I visited the beautiful beach and ocean for the first time that I realized that traveling was going to be a part of my future.
But life had other plans for me, and I became a mother at 20 years old, which pushed my dream of traveling to the back burner. Although I did get to travel a bit, it wasn’t as much as I would have liked.
Since 2007, I have been working at the USPS. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my only child was turning 18 and graduating high school. It was then that I realized it was time for me to make plans to explore and travel more. So, I started my travel business to help people who want to travel but don’t know how to go about it. I want to help people who think it’s too expensive or parents of grown children who want to see the world but don’t want to do it alone.

I’m Fabiola Paul aka Global Buttafly, the founder of Global Buttafly Travel LLC. My journey into the travel industry began with a lifelong passion for exploration and adventure. From a young age, I was fascinated by the wonders of the world and knew that I wanted to make travel a central part of my life.
Despite becoming a mother at a young age and pursuing a career with the USPS, my love for travel never waned. In fact, it only grew stronger over the years. As my daughter grew older and I gained more flexibility in my schedule, I decided to turn my passion into a profession by becoming a travel agent.
For over three years now, I’ve been helping individuals and families turn their travel dreams into reality. From booking flights and accommodations to crafting custom itineraries and providing expert advice, my travel company offers a range of services to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
But it didn’t stop there. Last year, I took the leap and founded my own travel company, [Global Buttafly Travel LLC. Our mission is simple: to inspire and empower people to explore the world, whether they’re traveling solo, with family, or in a group.
What sets us apart from others in the industry is our commitment to personalized service, attention to detail, and genuine passion for travel. We don’t just book trips; we create unforgettable experiences tailored to each client’s interests, preferences, and budget.
One of the main problems we solve for our clients is the daunting task of planning and organizing a trip. What I’m most proud of is the positive impact we’ve had on our clients’ lives. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson i had to unlearn was the idea that i could handle everything on my own without experiencing any mental or emotional strain. The backstory is that in mid 2019 I faced multiple challenges in my work, health, and personal relationships, which resulted in significant stress. Through this experience, i learned the importance of acknowledging and addressing my mental and emotional well-being, rather than dismissing or downplaying it as just “stress.” This shift in perspective allowed me to prioritize self-care and seek solutions to improve my overall quality of life. Which ignited my passion in travel.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience on social media takes time, dedication, and a strategic approach. Which I’m still building.
1. **Authenticity:** From the beginning, I focused on being authentic and genuine in my content. I shared my personal travel experiences, and insights in a relatable and engaging way. Authenticity helps build trust with your audience and makes them more likely to connect with and follow you.
2. **Engagement:** I actively engaged with my audience by responding to comments, asking questions, and fostering conversations. Building a community around your content encourages interaction and loyalty among your followers.
3. **Quality Content:** High-quality content is essential for attracting and retaining followers. I invested time and effort into creating visually appealing photos and videos that captured the essence of my travels. Quality content not only attracts new followers but also encourages them to stay and engage with your content.
4. **Use of Hashtags and Tags:** Utilizing relevant hashtags and tagging locations, brands, or influencers in your niche can help increase your visibility and reach a wider audience. Researching and using popular and niche-specific hashtags can help your content get discovered by users interested in your niche.
