We recently connected with Robin Senour and have shared our conversation below.
Robin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I didn’t. just fell into it. My husband submitted my name for a license on Telegraph Avenue and I was accepted. That’s where I started.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have never been a planner. I feel into everything I have done. I am essentially a painter. I sell small shaped pieces and also large canvas paintings. I do repairs for clients. I’m different than others because my item is OOAK and was an idea a fellow artist came up with in the early eighties. I am now the only one who makes them. I am most proud of the innovations I have made to the original idea. The main thing i communicate to my followers is that art is for everybody. In this money-oriented society, I bring art into the purview of everyone who looks at my art. I am interested is visually interpreting the stories we tell ourselves, and how they inform our lives.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Do what other countries do, and, with careful administration, push to have working artists under a certain income, not have to pay income tax.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
terrible for artists
