Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sophia Dawson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sophia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
As a creative artist, I am always searching to expand my knowledge on my craft and tune my instrument so that I will be open for inspiration to spark. I am incredibly passionate about art, in every form because they connect deeply. I find harmony when I am flowing with curiosity and creativity. When my senses are awake and my soul is alive, I find solace in creating art that is meaningful to me. What I put out into the world stems from my heart, my whole being, where truth is grounded in the doing. Nothing is meaningless. When I craft something from an inspiring idea, it roots from my enlightened spirit and connects to my state of mind during that time, which is valuable. An artists work becomes timeless and extraordinary because it came from their instrument. I enjoy connecting multiple forms of art together, eventually leading to a lifespan of artistry. I find joy in acting, poetry, screenwriting, filmmaking, editing, music, dance and photography. All of these passions interlink is beautiful ways. For example, I transform poems of mine into songs. Then those songs into a dance or in a score of a film I create. Or one poem turns into a monologue into a screenplay into a short film into a play production. One idea may never reach a dead end. Every route to take inspiration down is meaningful, precious and sacred. My love for art keeps me grateful to be alive and to pursue my passions. I am proud to be the creator of my special creative world and I know there is only greatness to come, only If I remain open.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a theatrically trained, vibrant creative artist deeply devoted to the arts. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, I stand as the youngest among four siblings, all of whom have inspired my journey into the world of creativity. From a young age, I found solace in film, immersing myself in classics and dreaming of entertaining others. This passion led me to accelerate my academic pursuits, graduating high school early to pursue acting fervently.
My artistic odyssey took a significant turn when, at eighteen, I ventured to New York City to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Graduating in 2022, I returned to Los Angeles, where I now hone my craft while pursuing a Professional Acting Program at UCLA and perform Shakespeare in at the Will Geer Theatre. Alongside my dedication to acting, I engage in a myriad of creative endeavors, including poetry, producing, screenwriting, filmmaking, singing, dancing, and photography.
As an experienced Creative Director, Production Coordinator, Actor, and Writer with over five years in the industry, I’ve led successful campaigns, managed social media accounts, and starred in various commercials and artistic projects. My expertise spans film theory, production, and social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
My driving force lies in infusing diverse narratives with profound meaning, seeking to connect deeply with audiences through storytelling. I believe in the power of art to shed light on love, pain, beauty, challenges, and the essence of life itself. With an alive and ready instrument, I am an independent protagonist, eager for every opportunity to share my gifts with the world and fulfill my personal legend as an artist in the grand playhouse of life.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist is allowing my imagination to wander, my heart to be vulnerable and for my gifts to be shared. Pursuing the arts is my Personal Legend and I do not take that for granted. Any chance I get to share my love for the arts and life, I will. Any chance I have to play, perform and entertain, I will. It fuels me and the world with inspiration and joy. As I spread my light across the lands, I sense it affecting life, humanity and nature. People enjoy witnessing artists flow in their truest form. I want to share my flow with the world because it will push others to share their gifts with the world too. Love is love is love.
