Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rebecca Murdasova. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Rebecca thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I have always been a coffee fanatic, anywhere I would travel I would always look for a new coffee shop to try out. After trying so many coffee shops I realized the perfect cup of coffee was at home. I would be the go to barista at every event with my family or friends. From there my friends always encouraged me to start my own coffee cart.
I was opposed to the idea for awhile, until one day it hit me and I knew wanted to start a coffee cart. I decided to draw up my ideas and I went from there. The ideas kept flowing and next thing you knew, Zion was established!
As a Christian we are called to serve one another, and I was most excited to be able to serve people and share Christs love through Zion.
Starting Zion was solely based on trusting God through every step. ( Psalms 125.1)
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My parents immigrated to the United States from Ukraine 25 years ago, in hopes to gives us a better life. I was born and raised York, Pennsylvania as the 5th child out of 10. We moved to Charlotte NC when I was 9 and I love it here.
I am most proud of the risk I took starting this business. I am not a risk taker in any means, I always play to safe in every situation. The past few years I have slowly started taking risks and through all that it lead me to here, starting my own business, the most riskiest thing I have ever done. – ps you will still never catch me on a roller coaster
How did you build your audience on social media?
I am still growing my audience on social media, but the having the support of family and friends has been extremely helpful. Posting appealing content, and having others repost it has helped grow my audience.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being apart of the Slavic community a good word goes along way. Making good relationships/connections, being reliable and making good coffee it always valued.
