We recently connected with Chef Groove and have shared our conversation below.
Chef , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
Absolutely! Taking vacations is how I stay inspired, by trying new food from different places. I would tell any entrepreneur that taking vacations are very important because you can not pour from an empty cup and it’s important that you take care of yourself.
Chef , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi, I’m Bj but better known as Chef Groove, I’m a private chef who fell in love with the art of cooking from a very young age. Growing up, I spent countless hours in the kitchen, experimenting with foods and left overs. I would sometimes sneak peaks of recipes passed down from my father. As I got older, my passion for cooking only grew stronger but I tried to run away from it by studying business in college. After a couple other business ventures it ultimately lead me to pursue formal culinary training and eventually embark on a journey as a personal chef.
What sets me apart as a chef is my commitment to building genuine relationships and connections with my costumers. I believe that food should not only be delicious but also spark conversations amongst people.
In terms of products and services, I offer a range of culinary experiences, from intimate private dinners and catering for events to cooking classes and pop ups where I get to showcase my passion for food.
One of the problems I aim to solve for my clients is the challenge of creating memorable dining experiences that leave a lasting impression. It’s an honor to be able to be apart of such memorable events for my clients. I have been engraved in so many core memories from baby showers, weddings, proposals and anniversaries.
Overall, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my work is driven by a genuine love for food and a dedication. Whether you’re looking for a chef to cater your next event, teach you how to cook or for me to ask you my famous question. “Are you hungry yet?”
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Ultimately, building a reputation as a chef requires a combination of talent, hard work, consistency, and a genuine connection with customers. It is mandatory that I produce high quality detailed meals that challenge me to grow and think out the of box. I strive to make meals that are not only detailed but food that will spark conversations. Being a private chef also requires an immense amount of dedication. The most important thing in building my reputation is my consistency. It’s crucial that my costumers receive expectational and quality food every time. No shortcuts, no gimmicks, just good food.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I am sooo far from being a social media expert and honestly I’m still figuring out what works for my business. I gained every follower I have organically. They either tried my food or genuinely like the content that I create. My supporters on social media feels like a small close knit community that I feel hand picked me. The outpour of support I’ve received since 2018 has been nothing short of a blessing. The advice I would give anyone who is currently building their social media presence is TO BE YOURSELF. It’s thousands of people following trends and doing things that don’t align with their personal beliefs or brand. I would prefer to have 5 true supports than 5,000 people who are here for the wrong thing,
