We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tyrica Nicole Young a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tyrica Nicole, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
After the unexpected loss of my aunt, Tonya S. Williams, I found myself grappling with grief and a profound sense of introspections. As I navigated through the waves of sorrow, I couldn’t shake the feeling that life was too short to postpone my dreams any longer. Inspired by my aunt’s unwavering spirit and you only live once, YOLO, mindset, I made a bold decision – to take a risk and create Innovative Crown Consulting Group, LLC.
Despite the fear and uncertainty swirling within me, I knew that I couldn’t let grief overshadow the potential for growth and opportunity. With a mixture of trepidation and determination, I poured my heart and soul into crafting a vision for Innovative Crown Consulting Group, LLC. – a vision that honors my aunt’s memory while also pushing me beyond my comfort zone.
Armed with little more than a laptop, a notebook filled with ideas, and my aunt’s enduring belief in my abilities, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey. Each step forward felt like a leap of faith, but I refused to let doubt hold me back. I drew strength from the memory of my aunt, who had always encouraged me to pursue my passion with courage and conviction.
Although, the pain of loss still lingers, it has been transformed into a source of strength and resilience – a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always the potential for new beginnings and unexpected blessings. And as I look towards the future, I know that my aunt would be proud of the legacy created in her honor – a testament to the transformative power of love, loss, and the courage to take risks.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
In a society where dreams often collide with harsh realities, many individuals are stepping up to help others who are struggling. I have encountered many who are passionate about a cause but are unaware as to how they can turn that passion into a movement or better yet a non-profit. With a heart brimming with compassion and a fervent desire to make a difference, I yearned to empower others to fulfill their aspirations of helping those in need. Fueled by this passion, I embarked on a journey to create something meaningful – Innovative Crown Consulting Group, LLC, dedicated to guiding and aspiring changemakers.
Drawing upon my own experiences and those of others I had encountered along the way, I understood the challenges and obstacles that often stood in the path of those seeking to make a positive impact. Armed with empathy and a vision, I set out to build a platform where passion met practicality, where dreams could be cultivated into tangible realities.
With unwavering determination, I set out on faith and committed to contribute to social good. I brainstormed and strategized, and meticulously crafted a blueprint for Innovative Crown Consulting Group, LLC., a beacon of hope for those with a desire to effect change.
My mission is clear: to provide aspiring philanthropists, activists, and social entrepreneurs with the resources, guidance, and support they need to turn their visions into actionable plans. From navigating bureaucratic red tape to developing sustainable funding models, I offer expertise and mentorship every step of the way.
The greatest reward for me is the knowledge that I played a part, however small, in empowering others to follow their dreams of helping others. For in the end, they realized that true fulfillment comes not from accolades or recognition, but from the profound impact one can have on the world by simply believing in the power of dreams.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In the wake of my aunt’s passing, our family faced a profound test of resilience. My aunt, Tonya S. Williams, was my biggest cheerleader. She encouraged me to take the road less traveled and celebrate life to the fullest. Her passing created a huge void in my life, and I experienced low grade depression for quite a while. Despite the deep sorrow, our family rallied together, finding solace in each other’s company and cherished memories. In her absence, I discovered a newfound strength, drawing inspiration from her unwavering resilience in the face of life’s challenge. Through tears and laughter, I honored her legacy by embracing each day with grace and determination and with the creation of Innovative Crown Consulting Group, LLC and the Tonya S. Williams annual book scholarship for graduating, high-school girls. My resilience and motivation stems from knowing that love transcends even the darkest of days. As I navigate the grief, I found comfort in the resilience born from our shared bond, a testament to the enduring power of love and family.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Shellye Archambeau’s “Unapologetic Ambitious: Take Risks, Break Barriers, and Create Success on Your Own Terms” has significantly impacted my entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy. I am determined to defy societal expectations and pursue my dreams with unyielding ambition. I refuse to apologize for my ambitions or compromise my values. I will continue to show up being my authentic self and redefine the meaning of success. I will embrace my passions and forge a new path, repeatedly, if necessary, unapologetically.
