I don’t think I have a most meaningful project I’ve worked on because all of them hold a special place in my heart. However, one I am particularly proud of is my ongoing commitment to giving back to my HBCU, Norfolk State University, each year. Whether it’s spinning at homecoming to ensure everyone has a good time or hosting an end-of-the-year party to celebrate those graduating and starting their next chapter in life, I find joy in supporting my alma mater. I believe it’s important to create spaces where everyone feels celebrated, especially for those who may not have that support elsewhere.My involvement with Norfolk State University goes beyond just events; it’s about fostering a sense of community and belonging. I’ve been able to connect with students and alumni, sharing experiences and building relationships that extend far beyond our time on campus. Giving back to Norfolk State is not just about supporting a school; it’s about investing in the future of our community and ensuring that the next generation has the resources and support they need to succeed. My work with Norfolk State University is not just a project or a job; it’s a lifelong commitment to making a difference and creating a legacy of positivity and empowerment.

I’m a DJ with a passion for creating unforgettable musical experiences. My journey into the music industry began with a deep love for music and a desire to share that passion with others. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills as a DJ, learning to read the crowd and curate the perfect setlist for any event. I provide DJ services for a variety of events, including weddings, parties, and corporate events. My goal is to create the right atmosphere for each occasion, ensuring that guests have a great time and leave with lasting memories. One of the main problems I solve for my clients is the challenge of finding the right music to set the mood for their event. With my extensive music library and ability to read the crowd, I can create a playlist that keeps guests entertained and engaged throughout the event. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to professionalism and my commitment to providing exceptional service to my clients. I take the time to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring that every event is a success. I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made with my audience through music. Whether it’s getting a crowd of strangers dancing together or creating a memorable atmosphere at a special event, knowing that I’ve made a positive impact through music is incredibly fulfilling. Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

As a DJ, building a reputation within the market is about more than just mixing; it’s about creating an unforgettable experience for the audience and building a connection within the community. I’m not afraid to be myself and help others when needed because the ones that helped me along my journey and continue to help me I appreciate them. I support everyone just as much as they support me in the end. My reputation as “Pye” is just more than “DJ Pye”.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

As a DJ, there are several resources that I wish I had known about earlier in my creative journey. One of the most valuable resources is online DJ communities and forums, where DJs can connect, share tips and tricks, and learn from each other’s experiences. These communities provide a wealth of knowledge and support from other DJs that I connected with and helped DJs stay up-to-date. Lastly, I wish I had discovered the power of social media and digital marketing sooner. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter were powerful tools for promoting my brand and connecting with my supporters, They helped me reach a wider audience and grow my career as a DJ.
