Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Seymond Perry, Sr.. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Seymond, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Hello, I’m Seymond Perry, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. From a young age, I’ve been drawn to creative expression, fueled by a deep desire to share the wisdom and teachings of the Word of God. Growing up, I found joy in writing short stories, often accompanied by my own illustrations. It was through these early creative endeavors that I discovered the power of storytelling as a means to inspire and uplift others.
I owe much of my passion for writing and public speaking to my parents, who were instrumental in nurturing my abilities. My mother, an educator, instilled in me a love for learning and communication from a young age. Her guidance and encouragement provided a solid foundation for my creative pursuits. Similarly, my father’s tenacious support and belief in my talents gave me the confidence to pursue my passions wholeheartedly.
As I journeyed through life, my passion for writing and public speaking deepened significantly. I actively participated in my high school’s poetry and art club, where I honed my creative skills and found an open platform to express my thoughts and ideas. Additionally, I participated in various high school writing competitions, eagerly embracing every chance to showcase my literary talents. As I transitioned to college, I took advantage of every chance to speak in different settings, whether it be in classrooms, seminars, church, or events. These experiences were key moments in my personal and professional growth, shaping the trajectory of my journey and leading me to where I am today.
My journey into public speaking began in the nurturing environment of my church community, where I discovered my natural gift for communication. Over time, as my relationship with God deepened and my understanding of my purpose evolved, so did my desire to write and teach the Bible’s timeless truths.
My pursuit of a creative and artistic professional path has been a natural extension of my calling to share the Word of God with others. It’s a journey guided by faith, fueled by passion, and enriched by the unwavering support of those around me, especially my loving wife and children.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Growing up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, as the fourth child in a family of five, my journey has been deeply rooted in love and faith. My parents, who instilled a strong foundation of faith, raised me in the church and taught me the Word of God throughout my childhood. High school brought a life-changing encounter when I met the love of my life, Sarah Perry. Since then, we’ve been inseparable, blessed with two beautiful children, Sean and Sarai Perry, who bring immense joy and love into our lives. I also hold dear memories of my wonderful son, Dontre’, who bravely fought cancer but left us almost three years ago.
My educational journey has been fulfilling, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Master’s in Teaching, with future plans to pursue a Doctorate in Theology. Along the way, I discovered my passion for writing and public speaking, a journey that began in childhood as I wrote short stories and participated in high school writing competitions. These experiences, combined with a nurturing church community, laid the groundwork for my calling to share the wisdom of the Bible through writing and teaching.
I’ve faced many challenges and diligently sought direction throughout my journey, but prayer and staying connected to God have been my guiding lights. Godly revelation led me to embrace my calling as a teacher, and I now find great fulfillment as a high school Geometry teacher—a profession I never imagined pursuing. But with God’s grace, I love teaching math and sharing His Word with anyone who will listen.
My journey as a teacher has unfolded in unexpected ways, leading me to use my God-given gifts to honor Heaven and serve humanity. From writing books to sharing insights on social media, I strive to fulfill my purpose and make a difference in the lives of others. I’m particularly proud of my latest book, “Even the Darkest Night Will End,” which chronicles my son Dontre’s battle with childhood cancer. Through this journey, my family and I discovered strength and victory in the face of adversity, reaffirming our belief in the power of love and faith. Also, through our website, several resources are available to help an individual overcome life’s various obstacles.
The Word of God is my unwavering anchor, shaping everything I do and say. As I continue on this journey, I am grateful for the support of mentors and the transformative power of prayer. My ministry, “The Master’s Rabbi,” is a testament to my greatest purpose in life—to live and teach the Word of God. Through my books and devotionals, I aim to inspire others to overcome challenges and find strength in Jesus Christ.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My creative journey is deeply rooted in my mission to live and teach the Word of God. Through my writing, speaking engagements, and social media presence, I aim to inspire others to overcome challenges, find hope in times of despair, and deepen their faith. My goal is to share the wisdom and teachings of the Bible in a way that resonates with people from all walks of life, helping them navigate life’s complexities with grace and strength. Ultimately, I desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others and honor God in every aspect of my creative journey.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of writing/speaking is the opportunity to touch hearts and change lives through my work. Whether through writing, speaking, or other forms of expression, seeing my work impact others is truly fulfilling. There’s nothing quite like knowing that my words or creations have inspired someone, brought them comfort in times of need, or helped them deepen their faith. Being able to make a positive difference in people’s lives through my creativity is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to continue pursuing my passion with purpose and dedication.
