We were lucky to catch up with Kiersten Morton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kiersten , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
Starting off I asked friends and family for support until I noticed support can be as little as a repost, comment or like. I then realized who actually supported me without expecting a discount or something in return and was grateful . Once I started getting genuine support from people that didn’t know me and didn’t live in my city that motivated me to take my brand to the next level.

Kiersten , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello my name is Kiersten Morton and my brand is “The Kashh Way”. I started my business in 2020 with just lashes and would drop them off anywhere in my city at anytime. I sold out twice back to back and wanted to get my website up and running and did a photo shoot to get more attention to my brand. I then started to make lipgloss, lash growth serum and T-shirts at home and was always thinking of other stuff to add to my brand. My favorite product was the lash growth serum I originally made for myself after ripping my real lashes off due to false ones that wouldn’t come off. I got them done by a friend and whatever glue was used would not come off and ended with me having little to no lashes at all. I then made the lash growth serum and my lashes actually grew right back which leaded me to selling it and selling out. I’m so proud of me having my business while dealing with multiple life changes and being able to take a break from my brand then coming back 10x harder. I’m currently taking the longest break that I never intended on having but for sure coming back 10x harder with multiple products I’m dropping back to back.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I started to blow up on TikTok in 2021 going into 2022. I remember getting my first out of state sell and at the time I was debating about giving up on my business and doing something else but the sales started to really come in. I even shipped out the country a couple times and that is what honestly kept me going. I even had other creators purchase and actually liking and wearing my stuff without being asked to promote. My advice is to not give up especially if you’re passionate about your brand just keep going!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
First you have to make eye catching content that will grab your audience attention. Stay consistent and don’t go too long without posting. I definitely recommend pop up shops I did over 10 and even had my own pop up shop and sold tables to other small businesses. I also sent out free products to content creators that would promote it and paid for promotion a couple of times. One of the best promotions as of today is instagram ads they automatically target your audience or who they think would be interested. Other than paid promotion I would post my brand on all of my social media platforms and would represent my brand as if it was Gucci or Prada.
