We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Mormando recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tiffany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of my favorite things to do is donate my time & services to high school girls in my community. Every year for Prom, the local Junior Service League works with the guidance counselors and faculty at each school to choose a senior young lady who may not have been able to enjoy her prom experience.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see their smiles, boost their self esteem, and know that I made a difference in making their special night unforgettable.
They receive hair and makeup, facials, prom dresses, nails, corsages, & more. It’s so beautiful to see everyone come together and create a memorable moment for these ladies. Giving back is something I will always cherish!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been surrounded by the talent industry my whole life. Hair and makeup is something that I enjoyed doing since I was a little girl. From pageants to dance competitions, stage makeup and glam was always part of my world!
In 2006, I became an NFL Cheerleader. For 5 seasons I was honored to cheer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders and represent the organization as the 2011 Pro Bowl Cheerleader. During that time, I was surrounded by some of the best hair and makeup artists in the industry. I started out as a girl just helping my friends with their game day glam and that’s when I knew that I had a special talent.
I’ve worked with so many companies since then. I was a performer at Busch Gardens & worked with prosthetics and Halloween makeup, I was a beauty expert for Ulta & Estée Lauder for 5 years, I became a Blushington certified artist in 2021, was trained by the clean beauty brand Jane Iredale, & now work weddings every weekend in Florida and beyond!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I used to do everything by myself. I always had a fear of trusting someone with my vision or execution because as an artist, I want everything to be close to perfect.
In the past couple years I’ve hired some incredibly artists that have joined my team and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
I’m a busy boy mom that loves spending weekends at the baseball field. Having my team allows me to be there for my kids while also knowing my brides are in the best hands.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
It’s ok to say “NO”. Not everyone has to be your client. For example, I specialize in natural bridal glam but I have artists on my team that do bold, bright, extravagant looks. I will always turn down bookings that don’t fit the mold of my expertise. It took time but the word “No” doesn’t scare me like it used to.
