Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michelle Lyall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Michelle, appreciate you joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
In the middle of a difficult divorce, I met a friend for lunch, she was also going through a divorce yet she was happy, bright and hopeful. I said I don’t know what you are doing but I want to do it too. She wrote a phone number on a piece of paper and slid it across the table. I called that number and it changed my life. In the first session he said to me, you just told me ten horrific things you have experienced like it was something you ate for dinner last night. We need to teach you to breathe. I had no idea what he was talking about but after following his direction to breathe deep into my belly, the tears came and it was weeks before they stopped. It was probably session six or more when he said to me, we have talked about restraining orders for weeks now. This week I want you to just consider that they exist. Not for you, in general. I want you to drive by the courthouse after you leave here and just consider that restraining orders exist. I thought, sure, I can do that. I must have circled that court house ten times before parking. I thought, no one will know if a park. After parking I thought, no one will know if I get the paperwork. I sat in my car reading the paperwork and thought, know one will know if I fill it out. Trembling and determined, I forced myself out of the car and back into the courthouse. As she took that large stamp and banged it down on my paperwork, something shifted inside of me. It was a switch of strength, of courage. That was the beginning of my healing journey and the awakening of my path to education, information, research and the study of many modalities and healing techniques. From college and mentors to deep indigenous teachings and inner intuitive awakening, I knew my path was leading me to assist others to know that what happened to them was not the end. That what ever mess they believed their life was, there were other options and choices. That to truly sit with another in their story, I had to uncover my own. That my experiences were not my stuck place but a platform from which I had a hint of what someone else might be dealing with and it was my responsibility to be a beacon of light in a place where someone was sitting alone and hopeless.

Michelle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I found over the years in my personal journey and in my professional education that research and education are at the core of how I function best in my life. It wasn’t enough to study psychology, I needed to immerse myself into it, from a personal experience in healing as well as, professionally through mentorship and hands on learning. As I continued my journey into natural medicine, I took the same approach, working in the field and understanding through apprenticeship. I have taken a deep dive into the healing arts over the last 25 years from all angles to fully understand and experience each modality. My determination and belief in the magnificence of healing on all layers comes from my own personal experimental journey and through the effects and changes with my clients. As a mom of five who parented full time for 33 years, I gained a vast amount of patience and nurturing kindness that sets me apart in my work. I bring an essence of being seen and heard to my clients that opens the door for them to share where they might otherwise be cautious. In working with inner healing, understanding basic human needs is only a part of the puzzle. It’s important that you are not limited by your own wounds. With a deep dedication in navigating my own core issues and unveiling my true essence, I can show up for others in a way that allows them to lead their healing process as fast, slow, deep or shallow as they are ready for. With all that I have studied and experienced, the most profound changes came through inner child healing and that has become my focus. I bring to each session the entire tool box of knowledge and meet my clients where they are and it’s rare that we do not find a connecting point and change patterns through a moment in time and a shift in that moment. It’s my target that clients come to me, learn new tools, change patterns and find freedom in their truth so that they can live life with a foundation of self love and confidence to have their own back.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I would not change anything, while a have a diverse business offering services of vastly different types, from inner healing to business consulting. my entire platform is based in experience with matched education and knowledge. If I can share one thing with one person that shifts their life in a positive way, I have done what I set out to do. It’s that simple.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most successful aspect of my business is having the experiences to back up the training and expand the knowledge but it goes further than just that. When you fundamentally know from your own experience, relatability becomes the core of what you offer and when we are speaking about people, we all want to be seen, heard and understood.
