Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julio Vazquez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julio, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Well, I’ve always knew i wanted to be an artist since i was a little kid. I fell in love with music at a very young age maybe at 6 yes old? I started my music career at the age of 16 when i signed my first record deal and after 8 years of making music all of the sudden the passion was gone. Not the love for music but the love for making it, i knew i wanted to be involved with music in one way or another and here we are today, I run my own podcast which are music related and provide audio/video services for other podcasters here in Houston.
Julio, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As previously stated, i love music and the entertainment world. I got into this industry when i was in high school and have been finding ways to remain relevant in this industry. I run 3 podcasts “The JVaz Show”, “TEXAS Underground Radar” & “The Slow Hour” alongside my co hosts Mr Neva Die & SlowLife. Our focus is to bring light to the independent and local artists as well keeping the fans up to date with related news. On top of that i offer video/audio recording and editing for various podcasts here in the local area.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
When i hear artists excited to be part of the show or when i see fans saying they started listening to an artists because of our show. That makes me feel like we’re doing a good job bringing lighting to these artists who deserve the attention.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Really just by being myself, I’ve always told people who they see on camera is who i am when the cameras are off and i believe people truly respect that. Aside from that the biggest key to building an audience is consistency, that’s always the key to success in life.
