We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Briana Ellison a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Briana , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I grew up with two working parents. My Mom was a Nurse in the operating room and would have to get up early for work. She always had really interesting stories she would tell us about different surgical procedures. I always found the human body to be very fascinating all though I knew I didn’t like the sight of blood so I didn’t want to be in the medical profession.
My dad was an entrepreneur and started his restaurant called the Sub Station in Riverside, CA, in his early twenties. He just celebrated his 52nd year in business. Seeing him run his business over all these years showed me that in order to be successful in your career you needed to work hard and find something you enjoy doing. I started working there when I was barely tall enough to see over the counter. I would stand on a box and pour drinks for people. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Working there taught me a lot about how to have a good work ethic. From a very early age, I knew that I wanted to be my own boss after seeing my dad’s flexibility in his work. Both of my parents were always very supportive of me starting my own business.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been an entrepreneur for most of my life, first starting my own jewelry line, to later opening up my own retail boutiques and now running my own private wellness practice. I pivoted from the Fashion Industry to Health and Wellness in 2019 and can say that I have truly found my calling. Helping people heal and find more balance physically, emotionally and spiritually is so rewarding. As a Mindset Coach and Energy Healer, I specialize in helping women find and remove blockages in the body, both physically and emotionally.
Most people don’t realize the negative effects of trapped emotions on the physical body. In my private sessions, I am able to find and release trapped emotions and energy blockages that, in some cases, go back generations. After just one session, it is not uncommon for a client to feel lighter, happier, and free of pain they have had for years. The beauty of energy work is that is can be done virtually. I am able to service not just local clients in person but people from all around the globe virtually.
As part of my approach, I emphasize helping women cultivate a daily meditation practice that can be incorporated into their routine in a mere 10 to 20 minutes each day. This practice is designed to easily and effectively become a part of their daily lives, even amidst a whirlwind of responsibilities. I guide them in exploring diverse ways of meditating, such as journaling, where they can pour their thoughts and emotions onto paper, enhancing their self-awareness.
Breathwork is another technique I teach, as it not only calms the mind but also aids in emotional regulation and promotes overall health. Walking meditations are also encouraged as a beautiful way to combine physical activity with mindfulness, enabling women to stay present in the moment and immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural world around them.
My ultimate goal is to empower every woman to flourish in her journey of motherhood by nurturing daily habits that nourish the mind, body, and soul, including a dedicated yet flexible meditation practice.
My unique blend of expertise and personal experience is what truly sets me apart. I bring a holistic approach to my practice, with training in Integrative Nutrition, Reiki, Energy Healing, Mindset Coaching, and Kinesiology. It is this diverse skill set that enables me to provide a full mind and body transformation for my clients.
I’ve walked in the shoes of the stressed and burnt-out mom, and it was a long journey to find balance and wellness. This personal experience, coupled with the insights gained from coaching numerous clients, helps me deeply connect with and understand the women I work with.
In short, my role is to empower women to thrive in motherhood by fostering simple daily habits that nourish their mind, body, and soul.
In terms of services, I offer both private 1:1 sessions in person and virtually as well as group programs. My group programs and 30-day challenges are particularly rewarding because they foster a sense of community and accountability among participants. Motherhood can often feel isolating, but through these group experiences, women realize they aren’t alone in their struggles. For the women who are looking to go deep into their healing, private 1:1 sessions are great, as they allow me time to work on specific ailments they are dealing with.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe that the most helpful thing you can do to succeed in this field is to be able to listen and genuinely read people. As an energy healer being able to read someone’s energy will allow you to find their blockages easier. You have to be able to quiet your mind and just let whatever needs to come through. It can be easy to “think you know” what someone might need, but its much better to tap into their subconscious mind and ask the body what it needs to heal.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been client testimonials. When I first opened up my practice, I wasn’t very good about asking for testimonials or referrals. But as the years went on, I realized that a happy client was my greatest asset. We all know how much more likely we are to book a session with someone we’ve never met when we have been referred by a friend. In all of my online programs and private sessions I kindly ask my clients for testimonals if they feel called to share.
