We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Luc Jacquemetton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Luc, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve harbored a passion for pursuing a creative path for as long as I can recall. It all began with filmmaking during my childhood when I yearned to compose music to complement my visual creations. This interest naturally evolved into music production over time. I’ve consistently been fascinated by crafting immersive experiences through the fusion of visuals and sound, a principle I actively pursue in my current music career.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Luc Jacquemetton, known in the music realm as SPACEWALK. For the past 7 years, I’ve immersed myself in electronic music production and DJing. My work has amassed millions of plays and taken me on stage across the U.S., supporting artists like Deorro, Wuki, Ekanovah, and GTA. I’ve toured in cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Colorado, and San Diego, with releases on esteemed labels like Space Yacht, Jadu Dala, Monta, House Views, Gold Digger, Ghetto Ghetto Records, and Phuture Collective. Notably, my music has been featured on TV shows like “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” and “Echo 3” on Apple TV+. I also co-founded Coastal Hook, an LA-based event company spotlighting emerging talent in the scene.
My journey into electronic music began at 15, igniting a passion that has shaped my sound over the years. Drawing from my background in film and visual arts, my music carries an atmospheric, moody, and nostalgic tone, influenced by my love for science fiction and cinema.
Ultimately, my goal is for people to connect with my work. Hopefully inspiring or positively impacting their lives in the way that music has mine.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the connection it fosters between oneself and others. Crafting meaningful music necessitates openness and honesty about one’s feelings and emotions. It requires vulnerability, especially considering that one’s work is open to criticism. However, the payoff is truly beautiful. Music has a remarkable ability to unite people, and by sharing your unique perspective through art, you can enhance your sense of self. Music has enriched my life with unforgettable experiences and friendships.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
One invaluable resource I wish I had discovered earlier is actively engaging with the local music scene. Being a producer can often feel isolating, and while online connections are valuable, nothing beats showing up in person. Personally attending events, networking with promoters, event planners, and fellow musicians has been instrumental in securing gigs and forging meaningful connections in the industry. By immersing yourself in the community, you not only become better known but also establish a stronger presence within your local music scene.
