Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jennifer Bugajsky. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jennifer, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
10 years ago I hosted a retreat for my birthday to bring women together in celebration. As I walked into the beautiful labyrinth on the property seeking guidance on the next steps for my business, the answer I received was unexpected: “Let the little girl be free.”
At that moment, I couldn’t fully grasp the significance of those words. However, as I reflected on the profound experiences and insights of that weekend, I began to understand. Despite initially believing that my calling was to start a nutrition business, I had a lingering sense that there was a deeper journey awaiting me.
Later, I learned that the B&B where we stayed was once a refuge for freed slaves because it was near a train station. Months passed before the true meaning of “let the little girl be free” became clear. My calling was not only to liberate my own inner child but also to guide other women in embracing their freedom.
In a world shrouded in shame and taboo surrounding sexuality and femininity, I realized my purpose was to stand up and eradicate these barriers. Thus, The Freedom Keys was born—a movement dedicated to unlocking the chains of shame and empowering women to fully embrace their authentic selves. Here, women are liberated from silent suffering, free to explore the richness of pleasure and fulfillment. in their lives.
Jennifer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Jen Bugajsky is the founder and CEO of The Freedom Keys as well as a Leadership and Sensuality Guide. The Freedom Keys is a transformative coaching program that consists of six books written by Jen. Jen guides women through each key which teaches women how to tap into their feminine energy and safely access their sexuality to grow into the fullest expression of their true selves. Jen uses a combination of mindset tools and body-centered practices (like guided meditation, energy work, as well as sound and movement practices) to support women in their healing process and encourage self-love. This multi-sensory integration of mind and body is the pathway to success. The six keys unlock Awareness, Permission, Acceptance, Exploration, Surrender and Worthiness. They are all pivotal and necessary to complete a woman’s full transformation.
Jen’s ideal clients are women who have been oppressed by society or religion, who are ready to make the commitment to heal shame and guilt around their sexuality. Women who are unsatisfied in their mediocre relationships, whether it be leaving, improving, or attracting a relationship are a good fit for The Freedom Keys coaching program.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first embarked on this journey, I embraced the term “feminine presence” with passion and clarity, but others struggled to grasp its significance, dismissing it as too abstract. I remember one day sitting in a conference and the speaker asked, Why do you think that your business isn’t where you want it to be. I thought, because I can’t talk about the root cause of the problem. I can’t talk about sexuality in Corporate America. It wasn’t until I rephrased my work as “intimacy and sexuality coaching” that people began to resonate.
However, this led to being labeled “The Sex Lady” which misrepresented my true mission. My aim isn’t solely about improving sexual experiences; it’s about liberating women from body shame, empowering them to embrace pleasure, and reclaiming their inherent value and worth. Despite challenges along the journey, I persisted in sharing this powerful message, knowing it fills a void in conversations rarely ventured into. This is a topic that most women want to talk about, but they don’t want anyone to know they want to talk about it. Women are suffering in silence, but don’t realize the impacts that this unmet hunger is causing.
Staying true to my vision, I resisted the pressure to rebrand as a life coach, dating coach, or sex therapist, knowing my calling went beyond those labels. It took years of refining my message and building confidence in my purpose. In a society where exploring one’s sexuality is taboo, advocating for women to embrace their sexual empowerment is even more stigmatized. Yet, I remained steadfast in my mission to empower women to reclaim their pleasure and break free from shame. Women no longer need to suffer in silence
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Leaving my full-time job to pursue my business was a bold leap that led to unexpected challenges, the greatest being faced with divorce. After 20 years of marriage, the idea of divorce seemed inconceivable to me—I believed marriage was for life and that with enough effort, any relationship could be salvaged. I tried tirelessly, even embarking on a 40-day love dare, but ultimately, it became clear that our relationship was beyond repair. While it’s possible for one person to shift a relationship, in my case, it was evident that our paths were meant to diverge. I’ll never forget the moment my husband acknowledged that perhaps his role was to get me from point A to point B, but someone else was destined to guide me from point B to point C.
Being the primary provider for my family, the decision to divorce took a heavy toll emotionally. With four boys aged 6 to 16, I knew I had to prioritize my own well-being, even if it meant putting my business aspirations on hold. It felt like hitting rock bottom—I was navigating divorce, selling our home, facing financial uncertainty, and contending with resentment from my teenage sons. Despite the temptation to return to corporate life, I refused to give up on my dream. Instead, I allowed myself to explore corporate opportunities as a temporary measure while I regained my footing.
The stability of a job provided a crucial anchor during this tumultuous period, enabling me to focus on my own healing journey. While coaches often only need to be one step ahead to make a difference, I felt a deep responsibility to prioritize the well-being of myself and my family before fully diving back into serving others.
