We recently connected with Bassam AL NAHARI and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Bassam thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
From an early age, I discovered my passion for pursuing a creative path. Growing up surrounded by my father’s repair tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, electrical and carpentry tools, ignited a sense of excitement and joy within me. These tools were not just instruments but gateways to unleashing my imagination and curiosity. Facing financial constraints that limited access to store-bought toys, I embarked on a journey of creating and assembling toys from available materials, fueled by my vivid imagination. These early experiments were my initiation into the realms of creativity and engineering. As I progressed through various stages of my academic journey, from high school to university, my passion for creativity remained unwavering. Studying in Morocco, I realized that creativity is not just a pursuit but a way of life, a means through which we can empower others to discover their own creative potential. With each phase of my life, I encountered passionate stories intertwined with creativity, reinforcing my belief that innovation knows no bounds.
Today, I stand firm in my conviction to pursue a professional creative path, where I can channel my skills, knowledge, and experiences into artistic endeavors that inspire people worldwide. My goal is clear: to break barriers, defy limits, and prove that with dedication and creativity, anything is possible.

Bassam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Allow me to introduce myself—I’m Bassam AL NAHARI, an enterprising soul on a quest to revolutionize the world of 3D/4D printing. But let me take you back to where it all began—a childhood filled with boundless curiosity and a knack for tinkering with gadgets and gizmos. Growing up in Yemen, I was drawn to the inner workings of machines, always eager to uncover their secrets and create something new from spare parts.
As I ventured into vocational high school, my passion for engineering only grew stronger. I immersed myself in training courses, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in factories and workshops. Armed with my Vocational High School Diploma, I dove headfirst into the world of machine technology, working as a technician in a dairy factory and refining my skills along the way.
But my thirst for knowledge knew no bounds. So, I set my sights on higher education, embarking on a journey to Morocco to pursue a Professional License Degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics, followed by a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Management of Technological Innovation at Hassan II University of Casablanca. It was there that I discovered the powerful intersection of technology and innovation—and I knew I had found my calling.
Yet, it wasn’t until a pivotal moment in my journey that everything clicked into place. Upon learning about the alarming frequency of gas leak incidents in Morocco, I was compelled to take action. Drawing on my expertise, I developed COPG (Capteur Opérationnel Programmable du Gaz)—an intelligent electronic device capable of detecting and responding to gas leaks with lightning speed. This groundbreaking invention not only earned me a patent but also ignited a fire within me to drive change through innovation.
But I didn’t stop there. Fueled by a desire to make a tangible difference, I founded 3D Gadgets—a venture dedicated to offering cutting-edge 3D printing products and services. What sets me apart, you ask? It’s my unwavering commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. With every project, I prioritize the use of recyclable materials and eco-friendly practices, aligning my work with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
So here I am—a curious child turned innovative entrepreneur and researcher, determined to leave my mark on the world. But my journey is far from over. With each invention, service, and academic pursuit, I’m driven by a singular mission: to push the boundaries of innovation and create a brighter, more sustainable future for us all. And as you embark on this journey with me, remember one thing—I’m not just a name on a page. I’m a storyteller, a trailblazer, and a force to be reckoned with in the world of creativity and invention.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
If you’re looking to support artists and creatives, now’s your chance to contribute to building a vibrant and diverse creative environment. Have you ever wondered what society can do to support these creative individuals and enhance their creativity? Let’s start with the basics – financial support. By providing funding and grants, society can give artists and creatives the freedom to turn their creative ideas into tangible reality, without the worry of financial resources.
But there’s more. What about artistic spaces? By opening doors to exhibitions and festivals, talented individuals can showcase their work and interact with the community, fostering artistic dialogue and knowledge exchange.
And finally, let’s not forget about education and awareness. By spreading awareness of the importance of creativity and its positive impact on daily life, society can encourage greater support for artists and creatives and promote more innovation.
Providing this kind of support is an optimal starting point for building a creative community that grows and thrives sustainably.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is the ability to push the boundaries of technology and creativity simultaneously. One of the most fulfilling aspects is the process of ideation and problem-solving involved in creating innovative pieces. Being able to conceptualize a design or idea and then bring it to life using cutting-edge technology like 3D printing or electronic circuits is incredibly rewarding. Moreover, seeing my creations come to life in physical form, whether it’s a sculpture, a functional device, or an interactive installation, brings a sense of accomplishment. Witnessing the tangible results of my imagination and technical skills is immensely gratifying. Additionally, the impact that my work can have on others within the field is deeply satisfying. By pushing the boundaries of what is possible, I hope to inspire others to explore new avenues of innovation and creativity. Furthermore, the collaborative nature of working in these fields, whether it’s collaborating with other artists, engineers, or technologists, adds another layer of fulfillment. Being able to exchange ideas, learn from others is incredibly rewarding.
