Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brett Forgich. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Brett thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I have been in the hospitality industry for over twenty years and worked in serveral different concepts along the way. It has been a fun rollercoaster ride along the way and it helped pay my way through college. My most recent position prior to opening Lone Wolf Co. was holding the title of General Manager at True Food Kitchen for a little over four years. Prior to that I was with Black Sheep Restaurant Group. It has always been a goal of mine to open my own establishment using what I learned along the way and applying that to concept. Covid was a challenge for us all to navigate through, and working an extended work load doesn’t make sense. In 2021 I started my business plan and thought that Lone Wolf Co. would be a great addition to the Jax Beach Community, and they have been so kind to us and have welcomed us with open arms. We consider ourselves an unconventiona

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My first job at 16 was in a breakfast diner as a server. I really enjoyed the money and being able to buy myself a car at that age. I continued my journey serving, bartending, and eventually being promoted to a salary manager at very high demand location in Virginia Beach at 22 years old. A few years later, I moved to Jax Beach and continued managing several restaurants. The restaurant industry isn’t for everyone, but the ones that pour their hearts in it, love the controlled chaos, and being able to mentor and develop others on the team.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Everyday there is a brick wall you need to pivot and go through to continue your development and set yourself up for success.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Setting the Table by Danny Meyer
Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek
Start With Why by Simon Sinek
The New Gold Standard by Joseph A. Michelli
These are just a few of the books I really enjoyed and have made an impact. Every year for Christmas I would give my management team a new leadership book so we could discuss it at our Manager Meetings.
