Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ca’Sohn Grant. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ca’Sohn, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
We at CaSohn G Productions LLC are trying to bring back the experience of enjoying what you do. Working with us ensures that you will get top quality product while loving the process of creating it. We believe that anyone has the power and capability to accomplish whatever we want to in this timeline. Working with us brings that to a reality, we believe in what you do just as much as you do, if not more! Being from Sierra Vista, Arizona, there aren’t many opportunities. College and the military are the most present options presented, but I decided I wanted to bet on myself. Since doing that, I have been opened up to so many opportunities! From working with major artist like Mark Battles, Chuuwee, Trizz, Rittz and Grieves, to working with a number of local businesses.
What I want to show with my business is that anything is possible is you focus on the tasks at hand. No matter where you are in life, you have full control of the direction of your life.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I began my ventures into media with being a Music Artist back in 2016. I moved to New York for my first year of college and ended up creating my first music project, I generated a good amount of buzz from it and followed that path ever since. I love being able to create from scratch and showcase my owns ideas and I understand the need for videos, photos and general promotion. As an artist, I constantly needed to find people to create content for me, not only that but I needed to find someone who believed in my abilities and wanted to give their all into making the best product. There aren’t many people who genuinely care about your work, they either care about the money or what comes along with it.
We at CGP make sure to put our all into every single client. No matter if it a $100 budget or a $100,000 budget, Music Videos or a promotional video for you growing businesses. We take the time to learn our clients individual needs and figure out the exact vision that is trying to be displayed. We offer a wide variety of services all ranging within the entertainment/promotional realm. We specialize in Videography (Music Videos, Business Promotional videos, etc) and Event Hosting/Planning but we also do photography and audio engineering! What separates us from most is our love of what we do. We are genuinely excited about every project we get because it is another opportunity to do something that we love and showcase our skills.
Letting the creativity loose can be a huge task within itself but that is where CaSohn G Productions LLC comes in. A big problem that a lot of creatives have is bringing the ideas that they have in mind and bring it to reality. Being an artist I understand the frustration that can come behind that, and it has given me the advantage of looking at things from a different perspective. I understand what it’s like to be in front of the camera, I understand the types of shots I would personally want to show off my own products. Similar to how retired basketball players go into analytics after. They understand things and see the game from a different perspective because they were also part of it at one point.
Working with us guarantees a unique approach to your visuals, not a cut and paste recipe. We make sure every video expresses the needs and wants of our clients. Whether we have to have weekly meetings to dial in on the story or a quick discussion day of. We will capture what’s going on in your head while making sure you enjoy what you are doing. With all of the work we’ve done within the community, we are well connected and able to get things done for you. Our resources will be available to you. For all of our previous clients and supporters who constantly tag us on social media, share our posts, buy merchandise, we thank you truly because your belief in us helps push us further and grow as a company! At the end of the day we want to be able to provide bigger opportunities for our community.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
I met my business partner Richard through a series of events. We originally went to high school together at Buena in Sierra Vista, but we were the closest of friends. It was more like acquaintances, we knew of each other but never really talked. Fast forward while I was doing music, we ended up working at a call center together in which we connected a little more because we sat next to each other. At the time we were just casually talking, no business talks at all, just trying to get through the work day. I ended up leaving that job though because I knew it was not something I wanted to continue to pursue and that was the last we really spoke to each other. About a year or. 2 passed, I was still doing music but I got to another point where I needed a new job, so I applied for Planet Fitness. I ended up getting the job and my first day I ended up seeing him working there as well, it was a crazy moment because we both had no idea. We talked again for a while getting cool because of us working at the previous job together but I worked there for about 3 months, then Covid began so the gym closed. Months passed before it opened back up and when it did, a good amount of people didn’t come back. We both did though. One random day he came up and asked if anyone was helping with my music career and I told him no, that I was doing everything myself. Within 2 days he bought a laptop and created a small promo video to show me he was serious. A few days later I bought the camera and we’ve haven’t looked back since.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I think a lot of people don’t understand the difficultly in the route we are choosing to go down. With this career choice I am attempting to captivate the masses with something that can represent a large amount of people while still being true to me. I am saying that my work is rivalry big companies such as Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount Pictures. We are trying to create the newest and most innovative thing while rivaling millions of people who are going down the same path. Some people view videography as just picking up a camera and pressing record, but they don’t see the hours of learning the equipment, learning lighting, purchasing courses to make sure I’m using my equipment to the highest potential. There is an endless amount of work as a creative, and that’s not even considering the business side of things. Having to study new laws, watching how the market changes, having to learn a different form of taxes. There is so much more than meets the eye and don’t think people respect that enough. As an entrepreneur and a creative, I have chosen one of the hardest paths to find success in, yet everyday myself, my peers and people who are fighting for this dream too are taking leaps towards our success every time we pick up that camera. We are one step closer to taking care of our families, spreading our message, and leaving our legacy every time we press record, or make a new shirt, or book another event to host. This isn’t a hobby, this is my career, my legacy.
