We recently connected with Carlos Alberto Moreno Escobedo and have shared our conversation below.
Carlos Alberto , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
The first paid mural I had was in 2008, I did it for a brewery in Mexico City. It was very experimental, with Stencil, masking tape, spray, acrylic. I had a lot of Fun

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My beginnings in art were around the 2000s.
My first visit to a museum was when I was barely 10 years old where I went to the Museum of Anthropology and History in Mexico City.
From that first approach I was able to understand a little more about the origins of the art, crafts and cultures of Latin America.
In 2003 I met the current Curator of Contemporary Art at the Astrup Fearnley Museum
Therese Mollenhoff
Which had a profound influence on my career, since I was able to travel with her to Oslo in 2004.
And learn more about the avant-garde of Scandinavian art and learn about the work of Edvard Múnch
From that year on I began to have more contact with museums, galleries and artists.
In 2005 I began to take some workshops in experimental drawing, creativity, Advertising, photography, fashion design, graphic design, drawing of the human figure, painting, mixed techniques, Graffiti, watercolor where finally through experimentation with various techniques I began to generate a linear, geometric, colorful, abstract style, developing a particular style.
He completed a specialty in Creative Visualization at the University of Communication in CDMX where he began to integrate contemporary elements into his work such as Stencil, Spray, Acrylic, Stickers, posters, creation of characters, integrating all street culture into his art.
From 2010 to date this has been the path I chose as a creator, muralist and Plastic Artist.
The art of Carlos Alberto Moreno Escobedo (CAME) is vibrant and bold, he obtains a connection with the environment and, so his work is an inexhaustible vehicle of expression.

Since then, his work and his search as a Muralist and Plastic Artist have been enriched with the interest of reaching a more diverse audience.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The main thing I had to understand is to ignore the people closest to you. Family, Friends, Teachers.
I understood very early on that to make things work in life you must be a very persevering person and generate unbreakable discipline.
When you have a dream you must go for it no matter what.
When I was little I never had any interest in school, for me it was a little boring and I spent my time drawing, when I realized that it was very easy for me to create, imagine and have a mind that went beyond the conventional.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I really like to always plan new things and projects, that is the most important thing when being a creator, that you always have projects until you are old. create, eat, sleep and start the next day with something much better
