We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Julia Wagner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Julia below.
Julia , appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
I had a client with a first floor bathroom that was stuck in the mid 00’s. It lacked both personality and natural light. The client felt that it was completely dull and dreary. This bathroom is one that all guests in her home use so she was wanting a design with a little pop and creativity!
I worked to design a space that was both modern and timeless while working with the client to stay on budget. I selected a polished porcelain 12×12 tile in two different tones and had the installers lay this in a checkerboard pattern. It gives the space the timeless wow factor that we were seeking. Additionally, we installed vertical board and batten painted in a warm neutral with a beautiful warm white paint up above to give the space a light and bright appearance. In order to stay on budget, we kept the original high quality vanity and tied in the black granite countertop with some of the final finishes.
Fresh stems, organic modern vases and gold accents are pulled in throughout the space to give the bathroom a warm and polished look.
Julia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
My business was founded in mid 2023 once I felt that I had enough time with my children in school to scale and foster a small business in a way that I would be proud of. New business for my company is driven largely by word of mouth from my current and former clients.
It’s extremely important to me to create a trusting partnership with each of my clients from the beginning of our design process to the final install. My previous career in both client experience and consulting, has led me to treat each client experience as a partnership that we are equally invested in. I am fortune enough that I have friends that have turned into clients and clients that have turned into friends.
My social media accounts where I share styling tips and affordable decor have also lead to new client traffic. I have social media followers who often turn into clients when they DM me asking, “can you please help me put it all together?” Which is what I absolutely love to do!
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I try to post at least once daily across my social media platforms whether its a styling tip, an affordable find that I love or a quick DIY. This helps keep both followers and former clients engaged with my brand. A typical design project in someone’s home leads to the client wanting more design help in another space. Gaining a repeat client is what I am most proud of within my business.
It is always my hope that after I have wrapped up a design project the client is in love with their new beautiful space and that it quickly becomes their favorite room in their home.
