Hi Perrie, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
My name is Perrie Gooden, and I am known as Nurse P. In May 2023, I decided to step out on faith. I was a single mother to my 9-year-old son and pregnant with my second son. I was not in a relationship with my second child’s father when I became pregnant. However, I was spiritually inclined to deliver my second son. Throughout my pregnancy, I held on to God’s promise. I am a Spiritual Life Coach, and having faith in God is the foundation of my daily practice; this is what I tell my clients, friends, and myself. While pregnant and single, I worked on my mental, spiritual, and physical health by integrating my 7 Steps to Emotional Healing. My strategy for emotional healing involves prayer, meditation, and daily affirmations. After having my son, I really learned the power of the mind and knew I needed to teach other women my strategy for healing. I started a support group for pregnant and single women and single mothers. The P.S. You Are Not Alone Support group’s mission is to promote wellness for mother and baby. Facilitating the support groups made me realize there is a need for my spiritual work worldwide.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a multi-talented Mama! I am a Registered Nurse, Spiritual Life Coach, candle maker, and future Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. As a Spiritual Life Coach, I coach women, facilitate support groups, and will be holding my first spiritual retreat in October 2024. The retreat will only be for women seeking emotional healing and a deeper connection to God. At the retreat, the women will learn how to overcome trauma. I created a strategy to help women heal through trauma called the 7 Steps to Emotional Healing. The 7 Steps to Emotional Healing are steps 1. Acknowledgment, 2. Spiritual Acceptance, 3. Seek Support, 4. Set a Goal, 5. Be Intentional, 6. Create a Self-Love Routine, 7. Have Faith & Be still. To learn more about my spiritual retreat, please contact me at [email protected].

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My resilience comes from being a mother to my children. Looking at them, I know I must keep going no matter what challenges life brings. Life is going to challenge each of us in different ways. I have learned to spiritually accept and overcome my challenges by shifting my mindset. Challenges are a part of growth, and in the challenge, there is a message and a lesson to take us closer to fulfilling our purpose. Two major components that increase my resilience are: I eliminate self-judgment and know my worth. I consciously affirm positive beliefs daily to build my confidence and sustain my resilient mindset.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
For me, having faith in God is the only way to succeed. God is the umbrella to all things possible. I wouldn’t have made it this far without believing in His promise.
