Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Belt . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Laura , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Belt Salon’s mission is to provide an exceptional customer experience by providing a clean, stress free, pampering and spa-like atmosphere.
We want people not only to leave feeling more beautiful on the outside but also loved on in the inside.
It’s not “just” hair for us but the connection we can build with each guest and the community.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Art has always been my passion. It has always allowed me to experience that flow where your mind shuts off and you create. Hair at a young age was another art form I embraced. I convinced my neighbor in 6th grade I could do her highlights with foils… she wore it for a day before coloring over it. I also was the go-to for updos and in math class I was doing hair for friends instead of math. The lines, shapes and colors speak to me. It’s a whole different way of looking at the world around you. It’s always been my zen. I combine that with my love of people and I love what I do.
In reference to what am I most proud of, Im very grateful for the team we have built and our drive to give back to this community. Im proud of the way we step up to help not only each other but the community. We have made it a part of our brand and mission. We want to not only make the world a beautiful place literally with hair but also as a whole.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I moved from Alaska to Florida and started over. In the first week I found a job at a top Aveda salon, a car, and an apartment that is now torn down. I slept on a borrowed air mattress until my parents got me a bed. I just didn’t give up and I kept getting up. It was one of the times in my life that taught me resilience, You just have to keep going and keep trying to find your way. It will happen.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My advice for managing a team is to be the leader you wish you had. People need to be lead with LOVE and we need to set aside the scare tactics. It’s simple, lead with love.
