We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kimberly Millard. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kimberly below.
Kimberly, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Party Possible Rentals Mission is to create beautiful decorations for all our clients, no two parties are the same. I have always hosted parties for my children and I know firsthand how it can be stressful and not to mention somewhat costly, but the creative side of me I’m able to come up with cost effective creations, therefore being able to design for my clients without digging deep into their pockets and the results are amazing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a Wife, Mother and Owner of Party Possible Rentals & More. I genuinely love to see people laughing, smiling and just having a good time, I have always hosted birthday parties, graduations or anything worth celebrating for my children, it brought me such joy when the guest would arrive and be like “WOW” this is beautiful how did you do this? After becoming an empty nester in 2018, I decided why not do what I love doing for others and get paid for it, its a win – win, I take the stress off them while doing what I love and they can just show up and enjoy their event. I put my heart into every design and detail and in return they are now my repeat clients. I’m most proud of the heartfelt reviews after the party that I receive and it keeps me wanting to continue to bring the best for each and every party I decorate. I keep it simple but yet memorable and beautiful so I can continue to hear “WOW this is beautiful”!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I just jumped right in LOL.. I’m still learning social media. I started with a Facebook Page and I did a few mockups on Facebook Marketplace. I remembered when my first client contacted me she was from California and was giving her daughter a Quinceanera in Willis, Tx, I immediately thought it was a scam until she gave me her information with a deposit. My husband was my first assistant and I must say I couldn’t have done it without him because I wasn’t ready for the uneven yard when we got there to setup, not to mention the heat we were dealing with because it was outside. When it was all setup and we were leaving, I told my husband “I may have to re-think starting a party decor business”. So I’m happy to say 4 years later I’m on Facebook, Facebook Marketplace, Instagram, TikTok and we have a website. So my advice to any newcomer or social media rookie just jump online and go for it.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I must say this business is not for the weak, it takes a lot of dedication and hard labor. Thankfully I haven’t endured many difficult clients, it’s always the guest lol… that have some type of issues such as “why am I picking up early (even though the party has been going on for 4 hours they just got there late), why can’t they have the centerpieces, can they eat off the charger plates. I will say you have to be physically fit to endure the sweat for outdoor events and the back breaking moments of all the carrying, lifting, squatting, standing, loading and unloading just to get home and have to bring it all inside for laundry, cleaning and restocking and the process starts all over again soon as the next client is booked. I have been asked why I do this and I can only say ” I love seeing people happy and I’m fulfilled knowing my clients have experienced a “WOW’ moment that makes it all worth it to me and I’m ready to do it all over again.
