Hasan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

Synthetic Souls has been one of my most meaningful and creative projects I’ve worked as of recent. Synthetic Souls is a high concept multimedia art series using the mediums of photography, video, and live performance. The concept touches on an artificial intelligence based narrative in a not too distant future. It was created by myself and creative partner Jeremy Baker. Its been a meaningful project because we get to show our creative talents all the while sharing with the world our love for science fiction.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I started HJFilmworld as videographer and editor along with my creative partner Jeremy Baker. In the beginning we provided film services for specific clients. As time went on we shifted to Los Angeles to focus more on our own projects such as photography, screenwriting, producing, and overall art. Over time we would produce photoshoots that were science fiction and fantasy based. Our recent project Synthetic Souls has been the proudest project we’ve worked on to date. With Synthetic Souls we shoot women as sentient artificial intelligence. Through this project we display our love for practical effects and science fiction filmmaking. It is all shot with a cinematic nuance. Since starting Synthetic Souls we’ve gotten such an amazing and positive feedback with request from so many talented individuals, models, actors all wanting to shoot for our project. Its been humbling to watch Synthetic Souls expand as we’ve had shoots, been featured, and exhibited throughout LA, New York City, Miami, Paris, Berlin, and it keeps growing day to day. It is a blessing to be able to share our creative minds with so many.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is all of the different people I connect with and the amazing places my art has given me the chance to travel to. With Synthetic Souls we shoot with so many amazing, talented, beautiful women who are all unique in their own right. This concept requires the ultimate creative trust. Each shoot is an experience and its been rewarding seeing how liberating and fun its been for women when they shoot with us at HJFilmworld. We recently had an exhibition in Paris at the Monttessuy Center Of The Arts. Some of the talent we have shot with traveled there to the exhibition and were in awe to be featured in Paris. It’s a humbling feeling!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

The ultimate goal for me as my creativity and business expands is to keep building on future projects. Me and Jeremy have some amazing things in store as we keep creating at HJFilmworld. Stay tuned!
