We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful David Brandon Thomeczek. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with David Brandon below.
Alright, Brandon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
In my early professional years, I had a different career trajectory, I studied Air Traffic Control. After a few years keeping airplanes separated; I knew that was not where my passions lay, I craved an opportunity for creativity, to express my vision of a more beautiful world. In search of this creative space, I soon found interior design. This discovery led me to join forces with a major home retailer in my native North Carolina; Here, my creative talent was nurtured and challenged. I found purpose and satisfaction in building artfully layered rooms that brought clients visions to life. After years in the industry, my own brand of design continues to evolve. Anticipating your needs, paired with my passion for beauty, and editorial eye I will create the home of your dreams. No matter the desired outcome, design is a challenge. Allow me to share my evolving knowledge of current trends and classic elements. Working with me each space will always be reflective, curated, and beautifully layered.
Brandon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Often, the first question I am asked is what are my fees? Simply put, every project is different therefore I have no set fees. After 15 years of practice, I consider many nuanced details before committing to your project.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
In it’s inception, my business was a supplement to my main career. After working within the constraints of a particular brand, clients regularly approached me wanting to elevate their spaces even further. So David Brandon Home & Design was born. I have remained consistent over the years, promoting my business subtly. In 2019, after making a move to the mid-west, David Brandon Home & Design became my main stay. It continues to grow, through devotion to my clients, my brand of design creates curated, artfully layered rooms.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Through interior design, I have found people accustomed to looking at the world through a segmented lens. Becoming hyper-focused on individual elements. I approach interior design as a whole, considering many nuanced details. Don’t be consumed by one element of the design. Trust the process. I have considered the end result through an editorial eye. The wallpaper, the texture of the rug, or the color of a pillow do play a role in the overall esthetic. While the process can be collaborative, disrupting an element may cause another to become lost.
