Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christina Tripp. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Christina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I’ve been songwriting ever since I was a kid but I don’t feel like I realized the gravity of what continuously learning more about your craft and your industry will do for you until recent years. I was so close to quitting music entirely in 2022 but thankfully, I continued to press forward. I made the decision to study my songwriting, because I wanted to be smarter and more musically aware of my patterns. I wanted to be undeniably equipped to break down a song, what it was doing, and why I was doing it instead of just relying on my ears and my ‘talent’. Because the more educated you are on a topic, the better you can be at doing the work. And the better you can be at doing the work, the more likely you are to succeed.
Studying music instilled a confidence in me that I’d never had before. Being able to share that skill with someone else and being able to help instill confidence and encouragement to them, has been extremely rewarding. I’m still studying and will continue to do it for the rest of my career. The more we can teach ourselves, the more we help the next person who needs answers. And that’s what we’re here for.

Christina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a singer songwriter and content creator. I’ve been a songwriter the music industry since 2019 and fell into content creation near the end of 2023. I started taking my music career serious during college years when I realized that there wasn’t anything else I’d like to spend my time doing than writing songs. And I got into content creation because I started sharing what I’ve learned and continue to learn about songwriting on the internet.
I’ve created online workbooks for anyone who is dealing with writers block and needs encouragement and inspiration. I host free social media events for anyone who is looking to connect more in the music industry, wanting a safe place to share their music, or wants feedback on their writing. And I’ll be launching a couple songwriting courses very soon for anyone who wants to learn how to write a song from start to finish, sharpen their songwriting skills, or how to run your business as a songwriter.
I am extremely proud of myself for simply putting myself out there in the world after almost quitting. I’m also very proud of myself for choosing to show up consistently, learn a little more each day, and to share what I can with positivity and purpose. The one message I feel like I want to share is that we all need each other, especially in this industry. Life is short and it’s easy to get lost in the noise- but the reality is that we are all going to be in the ground someday. So choose kindness, speak with love, take the bet on yourself, encourage or inspire your homies, give thanks, learn what you can, teach what you can, keep yourself accountable, and keep moving forward.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Show your appreciation in word, act, or deed. Like, comment, share, save their posts. Buy a ticket to their shows, invite a friend to go with you, share their music with someone you love, ask them how they are doing, tell them you appreciate what they do. Be supportive!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The process. God allowing me to wake up everyday and blessing me with the opportunity to create something new in this world is the highest honor. Having the capacity and ability to do what I love- creating art with people I love…there’s nothing better! To him, all the glory.
