Alright, Harriet thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As a leader, my why is very personal. Having a sister with disabilities illustrated to me that not everyone is treated equally, and therefore it became my mission to ensure that everyone’s voice should be heard. In creating my business, I wanted to develop a safe space for people to be themselves and thrive. My ultimate goal is for ByAssociation to be a vehicle for change. Our belief is that the micro affects the macro. By reimagining industry practices to further inclusion and safety in the workplace, our mission is to be leaders of a more heart centered way of working in our industry and beyond!

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
High morale is synonymous with how valued your team members feel. As a leader I maintain high morale by considering the best interests of my team in every decision I make. I ensure that there is a work-life balance, safety in the workplace, and provide professional development courses to spark innovation. I know that by investing in my team that they will invest in my company. A happy healthy team will lead to a happy healthy profit.
My advice for anyone in leadership positions is to actively listen, have the difficult conversations, and dedicate 1:1 time with team members. I have found that these simple practices have created trust and synergy that has been invaluable for my organization.
