We were lucky to catch up with Hope Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hope thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Some of the most interesting parts of our journey emerge from areas where we believe something that most people in our industry do not – do you have something like that?
I believe people crave authenticity, people want real people showing their true selves in the product you provide to them. As a yoga instructor, I believe I have changed the narrative on yoga being completely washed into “perfect body’s & perfect flexibility”. The way I instruct is based on how my class shows up, I navigate my sequence by the pace. If I noticed there is a sluggish feel to the room, I let everyone take it slow or the opposite if it’s a good mood buzzing around! It so important to be in tune with the people around you, otherwise you could lead them to destruction. Same goes with my business, I own a candle and body care company where all of my ingredients are natural, without harsh chemicals. It makes me excited and proud to offer these line of products because they are authentic as I try to be. Being truthful in a world full of uncertainty is deserving to everyone.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Communication is key! Owning a business comes with praise and criticism. It can feel personal sometimes but it’s important to separate your feelings from business. Learn to hear what your team has to say or offer. Even if it doesn’t align, it can be an opportunity to open your business to new ideas.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We are still in the building process. Through the frequent markets and connecting with our community, we are establishing a great rapport. Taking your time with each post & giving quality content is key. I know the world tells you to just keep posting, but I would rather have a page with quality than quantity! We get positive responses to our social media platforms.
