We recently connected with Christion Roney and have shared our conversation below.
Christion, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
Yes. I’ve had regular jobs. Regular jobs showed me that your day to day is everything. As a full time artist, I genuinely enjoy what I do on a daily basis. I graduated with a bachelors in kinesiology, and I worked as a personal trainer for a while, but I couldn’t do that every day.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a full time creative. I consider everything to be art and I consider everyone to be an artist. I specialize in many mediums with the goal of being a truly multifaceted artist. I work for a clothing brand called Cross Colours where I work within a variety of roles including Art direction, Campaign Development, Graphic design, Digital Marketing, Product Management, and more. Additionally, I created my own brand called Sixth Degree, an apparel line focused on the significance of connection (@sixthdegreeclothing). I also paint. I paint a lot. Most often, I’m painting anime characters, because why not. I love anime. I can paint real thins too (Just no babies or pets)
I also make album covers, screen print, edit videos, shoot photos, design logos, and anything else I really feel like doing.
(I feel like i’m limitless)

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Self discovery. There’s a parallel between artistic expression and finding one’s soul. The farther you push your creativity and the more mediums you play with, the more you learn about yourself.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The most helpful thing I can tell you– make good short form video content. Post GOOD reels, til toks or YouTube shorts and you’ll see growth. That’s the biggest one right now.
