We were lucky to catch up with Ashleigh Miller recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashleigh, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Since being in the wedding and event industry, I’ve seen countless trends flow in and out of each season, from muted color palettes to bows on EVERYTHING, trends and styles come and go and sometimes even make their return. One of the biggest trends that I am seeing in the weddings industry is the uprise in bold and bright colors. I know in the past few years we’ve been very used to more muted, neutral, and classic colors in the florals, stationary, bridesmaid colors, and table settings. Going into 2024, there has been a hugh uptick in wanting a more colorful theme for their event, and I LOVE IT! We’ve seen a ton of clients wanting peach tones, lavendar, blush pink, and especially blue. I think blue has been the most popular color for weddings so far. I think it allows us to be more creative and it gives us quite the challenge to mix different colors together and ensuring that everything is complimentary and cohesive. Almost every single wedding we have in 2025 has an extremely colorful and bold palette for the weekend, and we are so here for it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Ashleigh Miller, and I am the owner and creative director of Ashleigh Morgan Events. We are a luxury wedding and event planning company in North Alabama. Ashleigh Morgan Events is very unique, in the sense that we have a full planning and design team, rather than it just being one person behind the scenes. Having women with varying personalities, styles, and visions sets us apart because we are able to planner-match you with the team member who best fits your vibe for your wedding or event. I think that is extremely important because you really do develop a friendship with your event planner, so we like to ensure that you have someone that aligns witih you for not only your wedding vision, but also in personality so you have the best experience possible.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The one thing I would say about building your audience on social media is to BE RELATABLE! When I first started, I tried posting what everyone else was posting. I tried to be very similar with my posts, filters, captions, etc. Although it may be a little scary to put yourself out there completely, it really is so worth it. I decided to pivot with the way I want my brand to look and feel, so I begin posting days-in-the-life (no, not the “set up your phone before you get out of bed and act like you’re waking up slowly to journal”, we’re talking “my kids are kicking my butt today and I spilled coffee on my white button-down” type reality). I think that’s the best advice I could give. Be authentic, not only with your following, but with yourself.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I believe that our most effective strategy for growing our clientele would be networking and fostering those relationships with previous brides. For an example, on the wedding day making sure to make conversation with the guests, bridal party, and other family members to introduce yourself and be friends with everyone. On a more personal level, we love to send Christmas cards to past clients, wish them a happy anniversary, or even send them a bottle of wine on their first Valentine’s Day together. It lets them know that you truly appreciated them trusting you with their event and that you care. Most of our clients come from referrals, which is great. We try to develop long-lasting relationships that matter, and I think that truly makes the biggest difference.
