We were lucky to catch up with Erica Trinette Young recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My journey into founding a business focused on trauma recovery, mindset coaching, and Christian life coaching stems from a deeply personal place—a culmination of years grappling with my own childhood trauma and the transformative power of healing that followed.
As an adult survivor and now overcomer of childhood sexual abuse, I endured many traumatic experiences growing up. I did not feel protected, and once I did get free from the physical abuse, as an adult, I still struggled with the mental and emotional aspects.
The realization that something needed to change in me began in the silence of my struggles, where the echoes of my past traumas reverberated through the halls of my daily life, disrupting my peace and hindering my potential. The pain, at times, felt insurmountable, and the isolation unbearable.
As a wife, mom, and career woman, I was watching my unhealed trauma wreak havoc, and I didn’t want things to stay that way.
Thankfully, God placed amazing people in my life to help me on the healing journey. I had a great mentor, counselors, and a supportive family. It took years of dedication, but healing was something I was willing to work for. I needed to be better. My husband deserved a healthy wife, and my children deserved a healed and attentive mother.
I soon realized that if people could get help sooner, they could avoid some of the struggles I endured on my journey. I also understood how important having support could be for those desiring a better life.
Emboldened by this realization, fueled by my faith, and feeling as if God was tugging on my heart to use my story to help others heal, I set out to create a sanctuary for healing unlike any other. My endeavor wasn’t just about solving a problem; it was about offering hope to those navigating the journey of trauma recovery. It was about providing a unique, integrative approach to healing that acknowledged the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
The logic behind my business was clear: by creating a space where individuals could explore their trauma in the light of faith and grounded psychological principles, I could offer a path to healing that was both deep and sustaining. This approach wasn’t just another method; it was a calling. The excitement came from knowing that through my work, I could transform lives, offering individuals the support and tools needed to not just survive their past but to thrive in their future.
As I accepted the challenge for this journey, the feedback from those I worked with served as a powerful confirmation. Witnessing the profound transformations in my clients, seeing them reclaim their lives with confidence, purpose, and a renewed sense of joy, I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor. I was not only filling a void in the world of trauma recovery but was also pioneering a movement towards holistic, faith-based healing.
In essence, the foundation of my business is a testament to the power of faith, the resilience of the human spirit, and the transformative potential of integrated healing. It provides hope for those feeling lost in the aftermath of trauma, offering a path to recovery that honors their entire being, allowing them to heal and show up boldly and confidently as God created them to be.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a transformational trauma and mindset coach, an empowerment speaker, and a bondage chain breaker. My path into trauma and mindset coaching is intertwined deeply with my own story of healing and faith. My name is Erica Trinette Young, and I serve as a bridge for individuals navigating the challenging journey from trauma to triumph, blending the worlds of psychological healing and Christian faith.
My entry into this field wasn’t a decision made from career prospect, but a calling birthed out of God’s calling on my life and the necessity for people to be healed and set free. I am a trauma survivor and overcomer. My experiences with trauma and the complex journey of healing shaped not just who I am but also my purpose in life. It was through navigating my own healing process, encountering the gaps between traditional therapy and the need for Biblical perspective that I recognized a profound need—an integrative approach to healing that acknowledges the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
As I continued to operate from a place of authenticity and desire to see others healed and empowered, I began to encourage others through speaking. I am blessed to be able to speak at conferences, retreats, organizational functions, workshops, and school assemblies, addressing mindset transformation, trauma recovery, and hope for life’s journey.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
In this unique partnership, my leading co-founder is Jesus Christ. This relationship began as a child. As an adult, feeling led to entrepreneurship and marketplace ministry, I knew He was to be my first business partner. It was in the quiet moments that I felt God’s guidance, a reassuring presence that has directed me toward my purpose. This unwavering faith has been the cornerstone of my business, providing me with the courage to pursue my passion for helping others heal from trauma and embrace their full potential.
My human counterpart in this journey is my husband, whom I met during our college years. It was a time of discovery and growth for both of us, but little did I know then that he would become not just my life partner but also an integral part of my professional path. Recently celebrating 15 years of marriage, our journey together has been one of mutual support, understanding, and shared dreams. He has been my biggest supporter, watching me navigate through my own healing journey, championing my successes, and standing by me through the challenges. His belief in me and my mission has been unwavering.
Together, with Jesus guiding us and my husband’s steadfast support, I’ve been able to walk a path that is not only fulfilling personally but impactful for those I work with. This unique partnership underpins my business, infusing it with a sense of purpose, compassion, and resilience. It’s a testament to the fact that when you align your work with your deepest beliefs, backed by God’s guidance, and have the right support system, you can create something truly meaningful.
Have you ever had to pivot?
The story of my pivot from a career that was strictly academia to trauma and mindset coaching is a testament to the journey of following one’s calling, even when it leads away from a path you love. In 2016, while embracing my role as a college educator, I found deep fulfillment in teaching and shaping minds. Yet, as my own healing journey progressed, I felt a stirring, a divine nudge towards a different purpose: to aid others in their healing from trauma.
This calling wasn’t just a whisper in the wind; it was a roar within my soul, compelling me to move beyond the comfort and security of academia. My passion for helping others navigate their healing became a part of my life. Balancing a career and a growing business in trauma recovery presented its challenges, but the clarity of my calling from God was undeniable. He was paving a path for me to serve a specific audience and walk out the purpose He had for me.
The decision to pivot was not made lightly. Leaving a job you love for the unknown requires not just courage but a profound faith in God’s plan for your life. My husband, my steadfast supporter and business partner, was pivotal during this time. His belief in me and my mission bolstered my resolve to step fully into the role God had for me.
Creating a strategic plan for this transition was crucial. It wasn’t about stepping away from one job to another but rather stepping fully into purposeful living. This pivot has been immensely rewarding, allowing me to witness the transformation in the lives of those I work with—high-achieving women, overwhelmed parents, couples, families, singles, survivors—all longing for greater freedom, joy, and purpose.
This journey underscores the power of heeding God’s call, embracing change, and the beauty of finding your true purpose. Each day I wake, I’m excited to guide others through their healing journeys, a clear indication that this pivot was not just a change in career but a step into my destiny.
