We recently connected with David Stuckey III and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, David thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Growing up I was influenced by music. Though many of the Artist I listened to were great Artist’. The words the whole message that was delivered influenced me in such a negative way. As I watch society from then to now, much of the music we listened to without knowing had a huge impact on many people. So, I am determined to leave a mark in being a positive influence with the songs I create. This mission is so important to me because our youth find refuge in music. Instead of giving them that head banging music that will tell them to be something they were never meant to be, give them that same type of beat they like but encouraging them. Giving them a real life testimony over a beat that will make them put the gun down. Let them know GOD is real and HE hasn’t forgotten about you. It took 4 letters to come together a spell “love.” it’s going to take us to come together an spread it. It’s time for change and I’m willing to be it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always had a huge artistic passion painting, pottery, poetry, music and more. Music is where I’ve always been able to be myself. Music was one of GODS teachers to help me to have more confidence in myself. I don’t use the term “I get lost in the music” I’ve come to find that GOD allows me to find more of myself in creating music. As the LORD gave me more confidence in the gift HE gave me I began to desire to use my gift and passion to inspire people. It brings me great joy to see someone spiritually lifted, just knowing that that was just an external lifted it reached their heart. I love that part of being in this industry. I am one of those people that even while I’m sleep a song just comes into my spirit and I wake up writing or go to my studio and start creating the beats for the songs. So, there are times where I hardly get sleep because I am filled with joy and inspiration and I can’t sleep until I finish my assignment/project. My company name is Godsta Music Production LLC and we are going to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is LOVE.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was thinking I can do it all myself. I grew up experiencing disappointment after disappointment and it made me stop depending on people. All the way from childhood to adulthood I built this wall that people are only going to disappoint me and that was based off my life’s experiences. So I was the type that if I need something done I made it happen. Until GOD brought me to a point in my life to where HE is now ready to fulfill in me what HE purposed me to do. When you are as stubborn as I was you have to go through some things to realize what you learned you have to let it go, it’s time for new. The GOOD LORD told me that where HE is taking me I am going to need a team. I am going to have to start asking people for help and trusting them to do it. I am going to have to be patient and wait. HE is purposely letting things unfold slowly to make me depend on HIM not putting my hopes in someone who like me make mistakes everyday. We need each other, I don’t care who you are you need help.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me there are many rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative. One, is just being free of mind when you’re in that moment and I mean just being able to just let go and just let your heart just express itself. Another, is the positive impact it causes on another human being knowing that you very well may inspire someone. Life is tough, somebody is thinking about suicide and this could very well be the one song the reminds them that they are important. Lastly, the finished product the completed project, being able to see and/or listen to what started out as that and now this. Better than a slice of peach cobbler.
