Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adam Cagley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Adam, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I’m sure every creative wishes they had started their careers sooner. Feeling behind or that you’re lagging is just part of the gig! But the first book I ever wrote, I was seventeen, was absolute garbage. Independent publishing was something that was just starting to develop and I could’ve put the book out myself with little to no headache. It would’ve been a disaster though, of biblical proportions. That book was an abominable pile of hot, hot garbage. I’m glad I lost interest in it and wrote my second book because it was somehow even worse! I sold a few screenplays over the years since then, also mostly hot garbage, but didn’t even consider writing another book for like ten or eleven years. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out who you are creatively, and you know the moment everything starts to gel. It wasn’t until the halfway point of writing my debut, “Cyrus Stone: Hunter of Evil”, that I understood that sometimes it takes awhile to figure out where your energy is supposed to go. And that’s not a bad thing! It doesn’t mean you’re behind, it doesn’t mean you’re failing, it’s just where you are. No two artists are the same!

Adam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ll save us all some time here and just give you my author’s bio!
Adam Cagley grew up on television. As an actor, he appeared in some of the most popular shows of the last twenty years, a handful of pretty ok movies and one notoriously bad one. But what happens when a child actor has the audacity to get old and his phone stops ringing? He becomes a writer! He writes books and screenplays and tells the scariest, funniest stories he possibly can.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Well, for starters, they could stop being so damn excited every time AI learns something new! People that are ok with AI art aren’t really people I want to know. Their support, enthusiasm or really even indifference towards it sends a very clear message.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My social media following is still very much in its developmental stage or its infancy, so I don’t really feel qualified to answer this. But I’ll be damned if I’m not going to anyway! Consistency is obviously key, that and knowing who your audience is. I’m generally pretty stoked on the things I post, but that’s because I am my own audience! What I’m excited about, my followers usually are too.
