We recently connected with Jacob Hollingsworth and have shared our conversation below.
Jacob, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
I think the educational system is heavily dated. Times have changed, and the American educational system hasn’t kept pace with it. First things first, I think it’s important to learn history throughout the entirety of your life. Not just grade school. Lo and behold, it’s something that’s taught with skepticism, and a narrow sided American point-of-view. If we’re taking college into consideration, it should be taught from Kindergarten all the way up until you graduate from college.
We should allow students after grade school to focus more on what interests them. That way, they begin to master skills in that particular field and branch into that field more naturally. This also allows for students to continue dreaming as they did as younger kids and it then becomes habitual to dream. Allowing the child to keep their dreams alive for a longer period of time, and dreaming becomes second nature even into adulthood. Allow for a secondary [studies field], because as we all know, children aren’t the greatest at making decisions, but… as adults, we are all naturally keen to what things certain children tend to draw nearer to. So after grade school, this all allows children to develop crucial skills essential for success.
There’s a saying that if you commit to everything, then essentially, you’ve committed to nothing. That’s true to a certain extent. This could be a potential cause of why students are still uncertain of their career paths multiple years into their college studies. Or they take up a degree, then after they’ve spent their money and accumulated the debt, they have to go back for a different degree. They were shown so many different paths, it’s almost impossible to pinpoint which career path to take. Now if a student after the age of 14 decides they ultimately no longer want to focus on that career path they initially were more drawn to at that age of 11-12 chosen after graduating from Elementary School, then there should be a mentorship partnership of well-vetted professionals who would be more than willing to associate themselves in the program with High Schools to partner with the student for the next 8 years through college. I won’t go down the rabbit hole of the “business” Universities are. I’ll stray away. But I am hoping Jacob Hollingsworth Network Corporation can make some major changes to education and learning.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Jacob L. Hollingsworth, from St. Louis, MO. born November 19th, 1994, and I am the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Founder of Jacob Hollingsworth Network Corporation (JHN) and both DBAs subsidiaries, JHN FINANCE and JHN DANCE. I created this business simply based on a dream that I intend to follow for as long as I live. I want to help people live their dreams and become their best selves.
JHN FINANCE allows for networking of financial professionals coming into the industry or already established in the industry. The services that you would pay for with JHN FINANCE is the Study Program where you complete either single sessions, or you join the Monthly Program where you have a well-planned out session schedule where you meet with me online, with potential additional individuals also studying for the synonymous exam. Still available is the Series 65, Series 7 & SIE, and Life, Health & Accident Insurance Exam Study Programs. The program has already helped many pass their exams, and has received raving reviews. Some of these financial professionals I still speak with on the regular and seeing some of the major successes they have experienced since the program is astounding. From traveling the world, to netting $1.2M worth of deals in the industry. This program allows future professionals a comfort knowing they’re not alone in their studies, and there are many like them across the U.S. trying to reach very similar goals for their particular vision of the future.
JHN FINANCE also offers a free Social Media Platform for certain individuals who qualify. This is meant to be a safe space for professionals to discuss occurrences of things in the world of finance, or even pass notes and tips for those who are taking financial exams. Customize your profiles, post pics, gifs, it’s a social media platform, and it’s designed FOR finance & economic lovers.
JHN DANCE is a subsidiary that focuses on the individual students progress in professional dance in Urban & Hip-Hop Dance. You may request Live-Online, Pre-Recorded, or In-Person (Minneapolis Area Students) sessions. Or join JHN DANCE Monthly which has it’s very own outstanding, great tools for students to learn. The focus of JHN DANCE is to give each individual student the attention they deserve whilst honing their skillsets to be a professional dancer. It can be difficult for your student to learn when some students in their previous classes could be getting more attention because they may be a bit further along, or the instructor simply favors another student, but this is no concern with JHN DANCE. I train these dancers from Point A to B and make them confident so that no matter what stage or scenario they’re in, they can trust that they’ve been equipped with the proper tools to shine.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
“Follow Up, Follow Back, Follow Through”…. I think I have those in the proper order. Point being, you must stay consistent with follow up. I just recently heard a word in a recent webinar I attended, and the presenter noted that on average, it takes 7 interactions of the potential client to buy from you. Same things go for those who have ALREADY bought from you. Another thing is, often times, entrepreneurs are often looking for the “right answer”. I’m going to tell you now, there is no “one right answer”. There are many avenues to explore to marketing and branding, and you have to be willing to use them all to the most exaggerated and energetic extent to grow your business. Whether that’s with your peers and partnership, or a business to customer approach. You have to be willing to mail, email, call, text, send holiday newsletters, gifts, discounts, coupons, gift cards– no matter what, just KEEP PUSHING. Your hard work will eventually show for itself and you will begin to notice a different energy when you’re engaged daily, and you’ll also notice growth of your brand, and a trust for your brand.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
My favorite type of marketing I’ve done recently, and it actually brought in some pretty hefty results, I looked at my cell phone, and I thought to myself, “How many contacts do I actually have in my phone that I am not pursuing, and haven’t told about my business?” So during Thanksgiving this past year, I used my CRM (Customer Relationship Management Technology), and created a text campaign that garnered over 50+ site visits in less than 24 hours on 105 receipts.
I just realized, I probably wasn’t being as vocal as I could be with family and friends, and I just took the risk. People will either support you, or… let’s not focus on the “or”. Take risks, and take risks. Then take bigger and GREATER risks. That’s the way.
When I did this, I also thought to myself, I need to use the “DATE” to create more engagement for my business. Meaning, ‘holidays’ and special occasions. What’s more engaging and creates a stronger sense of togetherness than holidays? Holiday deals, discounts, USE them. “Something” is always better than nothing, and you garner great satisfaction knowing you were able to help someone. Make the sales, and see what deals you can continue on with, and which deals can only be run for a short period of time.
