We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Terrance Ramses a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Terrance, appreciate you joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?

Back in the summer of 2019, I lost everything. My house, car, my mind, my son and was arrested for being homeless and not having proper means to take care of myself. This happened during one of the toughest seasons in my life. How I overcame this by changing the way I saw things. I did an interview about my story and didn’t let shame block me from healing.

Terrance, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

One of the Main issues that I’ve solved for the people around me is helping people discover purpose. On a daily basis, people are going through the motions in life just drifting. People work at jobs that they hate because they see themselves as average and/or they don’t see the vision and plan that God has assigned to them. The Royal Blossom Company formerly known as Ripe Brand Clothing.

Mission: Restore, Build, Create; To restore all the wealth and resources back into our communities, to build up the youth and children that are coming behind us, to create a unique commonwealth of like minded entrepreneurs to put them back in to Gods purpose.

We Are One is the current theme of RBC. We are one community that solves problems on a community level. When people wear Royal Blossom, they are going to feel like they can do anything they put their mind to!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most Rewarding aspect of the Fashion and Art industry is to see you work come alive and people being able to relate to a story. Fashion and Arts telling the most unique stories on the planet. Artists produce the best pieces and design through turmoil and grief. I can’t remember the last time it has been consistently peaceful without trials while building the brand and business. This is the key element to how I know that I’m on purpose.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?

One thing people don’t understand is that an artist’s brain is always moving and abstract. These individuals tend be perceived as strange, weird, misunderstood, dumb all at the same time. The process is producing quality work is different. Artists that are quality don’t microwave their work. Some people didn’t understand why I was taking so long when I first started RBC why pre-orders were taking so long. I had to communicate with suppliers around the clocks, develop prototypes, make sure the products don’t shirk and fade and the sizing is correct. I’m doing this while people in the West are sleeping at 3am. When the products come out and are shipped with extra products, they say why. Everything and every process has a PURPOSE!!!!
