Hi Ben, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant turning point in my career came from watching live streams of Don Allen III, a prolific XR creator. His work and insights inspired me to transition from consulting in AR to creating AR content myself. Up until that point, I had a background in design and some 3D skills, and while I had worked on numerous AR projects in teams, I was the “idea guy,” contributing concepts and strategies.

Motivated by the desire to learn the skills firsthand and make my own prototypes, I adopted a very hands-on approach to my work. This shift meant delving deeper into the technical aspects of AR creation, experimenting with different tools, and pushing myself to understand the intricacies of the technology. It was a period of rapid growth and learning, where I moved from conceptualizing ideas to actually bringing them to life through coding, modeling, and animation.

This transition was not just about acquiring new skills, but also about embracing a more immersive and proactive role in my projects. It allowed me to take full ownership of my creations, from initial concept to final execution, and opened up new avenues for innovation and creativity in my work.

I’m a Creative Technologist and Digital Artist originally from Los Angeles, now living and working in Munich, Germany. My journey into the world of digital creativity began with a deep-seated passion for art and technology. I was always fascinated by the endless possibilities of combining these two fields to create something extraordinary.

My career started in graphic design, where I honed my skills in visual storytelling. Building my audience on social media has been an incredible journey of exploration and consistent effort. It all started with my passion for trying out new tech and learning new creative tools. I decided to begin documenting my journey in the intersection of art and technology, making it a point to share my experiments, successes, and even failures, as I navigated through the world of digital art and AR.

Consistency was key. I committed to posting regularly in 2022, ensuring that my followers had a steady stream of content to engage with. This not only helped in keeping my audience interested but made me level up my skills through constant creation.

My intention was always clear: to showcase my capabilities as a Creative Technologist and Digital Artist, effectively turning my social media platforms into a public showreel. I wanted marketers and brands to see the potential in my work, to envision how my skills could help solve their problems. For me, there’s no clear boundary between work and leisure because I’m deeply passionate about what I do. I spend both my working hours and free time exploring and creating in the realms of digital art and technology.

This blending of work and passion is not just a choice; it’s almost a necessity. The drive to create and produce is an inherent part of who I am. It’s not merely about completing a project or meeting a deadline; it’s about expressing myself, pushing boundaries, and bringing my visions to life.
