Madison, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
As a digital marketing company specializing in the wine and hospitality sector, we understand the unique challenges and opportunities that luxury brands in this industry face. To truly thrive, it’s essential for wineries to embrace innovation and recognize the pivotal role of digital marketing. This includes being active on social media, focusing on their current customer and knowing how to target new customers.
In an era where consumer behavior is increasingly influenced by online experiences, a strong digital presence is no longer a luxury but a necessity. Many wineries may still be overlooking the potential that lies in digital. To stand out in the competitive market and capture the attention of discerning consumers, it’s crucial for wineries to actively pursue innovation and leverage digital marketing strategies.
Our focus on luxury brands stems from the belief that excellence deserves to be showcased effectively. By pushing wineries to innovate, we enable them to create unique, compelling narratives around their brand and products. Digital marketing provides the means to connect with consumers on a personal level, conveying the story behind each bottle and cultivating a loyal customer base.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Based in Napa Valley, Mad Rose Creative was created by Madison Scarlata, a local marketing professional to embrace her love of wine photography.
Mad Rose Creative’s mission is to service small, boutique wineries and help them achieve a beautiful social media feed and engaging photography.
Madison Scarlata is a published photographer, digital storyteller, social media marketing consultant, and avid foodie. Her experience spans email marketing, social media, photography, website work, and digital advertising. After working for world-renowned wineries, including Cliff Lede Vineyards, Grgich Hills Estate, and Baldacci Family Vineyards, she decided to launch Mad Rose Creative, her consulting company.
The wine industry at the end of the day is all about farming and farmers. It’s our goal to continue to help these small businesses build a larger customer base and keep thriving.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Embarking on this entrepreneurial journey, I embraced a mindful approach to funding my digital marketing.
I began with small investment, since this industry often demands minimal overhead. This allowed me to lay a foundation for my business that echoed the simplicity and sophistication.
A huge goal was to find an exceptional bookkeeper. This decision laid the groundwork for financial stability and meticulous oversight.
Crafting a brand that not only reflected my personal vision but also resonated deeply with the desires and aspirations of my target clientele became paramount.
The most expensive thing I deal with is photography equipment and my own gear. While the overhead in my business is small, this is where I spend the most money.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Oh, building my social media presence has been quite the journey, just like a good glass of wine – smooth, with a hint of adventure! I really wanted to keep it real, you know? So, I just decided to be me, unapologetically.
I’m all about sharing the things I love, and lucky for me, it aligns with what others love too. From my deep affection for wine to capturing the beauty of nature and whipping up some killer recipes, I figured, why not let people in on the things that light me up? It’s like inviting them into my little world, and hopefully, they find a piece of joy or inspiration in it.
Lifestyle photography is my jam. It’s not just about snapping pics; it’s about telling a story. I want my feed to feel like a cozy dinner with friends or a serene hike through the woods.
The goal? To create a space that resonates with people. I want them to scroll through and feel like they’re hanging out with a friend, sharing a glass of wine or swapping recipe tips. It’s not just about me; it’s about building a community around shared passions.
